Former England international Keran Bracken tells BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast that Eddie Jones is the right man to lead the national side.

"It’s a very canny decision to get him involved as he has a lot of experience of Japan and the next World Cup is in Japan," says Bracken. "It's important to get a big coach,a big name and they've done just that.

"He's incredibly intense. He expects a lot of his coaches and works them really hard. He thinks outside the box and I think that's something England need."

"When I think a player deserves I have selected younger players in my time as national coach, it’s dependable what kind of player you need," says van Gaal. "When a player shows on a high level what he can do, he can do it too for the national team. Now he has the first experience.

"Maybe he could have played tomorrow. Michael Carrick is not a heavy injury so he shall be playing much quicker than everyone has written."
