    Roman Abramovich addressed the Chelsea players at training today to tell them that he didn't want to sack Mourinho, external, according to the Daily Mail. 

    Apparently he addressed the players in Russian, with his comments translated to the team. 

    According to the article, Jose Mourinho was also back at the training ground, and also spoke to the players. He "reminded them of what it took to be winners last season, when they landed the Premier League and the Capital One Cup."

    Former Scotland forward James McFadden has signed for his first club Motherwell for a third time.

    McFadden, who has been training at Fir Park for most of the season after his release by St Johnstone, has been given a contract until the end of January.

    Eduardo Li - former president of the Costa Rican Football Federation - has been extradited to the US, the Swiss justice ministry says.

    He was handed over to the US police in Zurich and then flown to New York.

    Mr Li is one of seven officials with Fifa, world football's governing body, who were arrested in Zurich in May, amid a huge corruption investigation.

    Separately, Switzerland will extradite former Fifa Vice-President Eugenio Figueredo to his native Uruguay.

    World football's governing body has been engulfed by claims of widespread corruption since summer 2015.

    South Africa paceman Dale Steyn's chances of being fit for the Test series with England look positive after he passed a thorough fitness test.

    The 32-year-old, the number one ranked Test bowler, has been out of action with a groin strain since the first Test against India in early November.

    But in Cape Town this week he was able to bowl at high intensity in the nets, run sprints and do fielding drills.

    The 57-year-old takes over from Gary Whild who left the National League club last month.

    Hockaday will be in the dugout , external for Saturday's game at Macclesfield, with Harriers bottom of the table, without a win, and five points from safety.

    "Dave has an enviable reputation as a coach within the game," said Kidderminster chairman Rod Brown.

    "I didn't ever believe I'd have such an achievement, but everyone trains as equally as hard so I can't sit back and relax," she told BBC Look East.

    Both that opener on Saturday 12 November and the Test against World Cup semi-finalists Argentina the following Saturday will be at Murrayfield.

    Varney, 33, has been undergoing rehabilitation with Ipswich since injuring his Achilles in last season's play-off semi-final against Norwich while on loan from Blackburn.

    He played 12 games for Ipswich before being released by Rovers in the summer.

    Sri Lankan authorities are investigating an attempt to fix an international cricket match involving the national team and the West Indies.

    Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera said a suspected bookmaker had approached two Sri Lankan players ahead of the match to try to convince them to under-perform and lose the match.

    Both players turned down the approach and the authorities were informed, Mr Jayasekara said.

    Sri Lanka went on to win the game.

    AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley says it would be "a dream" to lead the club into their new stadium at Plough Lane.

    The Dons have planning permission to build a new ground on the site of Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium, and hope to complete construction in 2018.

    Ardley wants his team to display the spirit shown by fans in re-establishing the club. "They don't expect you to play free-flowing football like Real Madrid, though it's a bonus if you do," he said.

    She left Arsenal at the end of last term, during which she had a spell on loan at Notts County.
