    Liverpool fans made sure the subject of ticket prices became very much the centre of attention once more.

    Thousands of Liverpool fans walked out of the game against Sunderland at Anfield on Saturday in protest at a £77 ticket in the new Main Stand next term.

    It comes after the Premier League sold television rights in 2015 to its games for £5.14bn, kicking in from 2016-17.

    Former England striker Alan Shearer backed the fans here.

    New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum ended his one-day international career with a series victory over Australia.

    The Black Caps sealed a 55-run win in the deciding third match in Hamilton.

    New Zealand, who were all out for 246 in 45.3 overs, managed to dismiss Australia for 191 in 43.4 overs to give them a 2-1 series wi.

    The 34-year-old McCullum is retiring from all international cricket at the end of the two-test series against Australia, which starts on Thursday in Wellington.

    British number three Naomi Broady has now broken into the world's top 100 for the first time after winning an ITF tournament in the United States.

    She jumps from 112th to 96th, joining fellow Britons Johanna Konta (28) and Heather Watson (84) in the top 100.

    As for the action on the pitch, Diego Costa's stoppage-time equaliser preserve Chelsea's unbeaten record under interim boss Guus Hiddink and denied Manchester United a win.

    !I am happy with the reaction of the team," said Blues boss Hiddink. "United did a good job in the first half and in the beginning of the second - they are not an easy team to beat."

    It's generally agreed United were the better side so no wonder opposite number Luis van Gaal was a little gutted afterwards.

    "Chelsea are a very good team and when you play like we played and don't reward yourself, it is frustrating," he said.

    Chelsea captain John Terry says there has been "no communication" between him and the club despite boss Guus Hiddink suggesting the skipper could stay.

    Terry, 35, said last week that he had not been offered a new deal when his contract expires in the summer.

    Asked after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United whether anything had changed, he said: "Not from my point of view.  I made it very clear I wanted to stay."

    First, let's pop over the Atlantic, for there was rather a big game overnight.

    The Denver Broncos took on Carolina Panthers in Superbowl 50 and produced a defensive masterclass to upset the odds and claim a 24-10 victory.

    Carolina were heavy favourites, having lost only once all season and with the league's Most Valuable Player, external of the season Cam Newton at quarterback.

    But Newton was smothered and that helped Denver, quarterbacked by veteran Peyton Manning, stroll to a deserved win.
