Pulis critical of Martinezpublished at 15:27

    Football

West Brom manager Tony Pulis has criticised his Everton counterpart Roberto Martinez for trying to get striker Saido Berahino banned.

Martinez claimed that Berahino should have been sent off during last weekend's game between the sides, saying that Berahino had "stamped" on James McCarthy

The FA reviewed the incident this week with a view to taking punishment retrospectively but decided against action.

“I was a little bit disappointed with Roberto in respect of trying to bring something up after we’d won the game," said Pulis. "It almost smells of sour grapes and you don’t need that."

    Chelsea news conferencepublished at 15:15

Chelsea v Manchester City (Sunday, 16:00 GMT)

A bit more now from Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink who is not underestimating FA Cup opponents Manchester City, despite Manuel Pellegrini threatening to field a weakened team in protest at the scheduling of the fixture.

"A big team always reacts," Hiddink said. "We are warned. Let's see what happens Sunday. We'll take ourselves and them very seriously."

Hiddink welcomed some of the rumoured reforms reportedly being considered for the FA Cup, which he describes as "a charming tournament".

"About midweek [fixtures], I'm in favour," he added. "For smaller clubs it's a big adventure, to have the opportunity when they have a good result to have a [replay].  We should not just think of the big clubs and try to get a good schedule in Premier League, but also not forget the clubs who love to play against the big clubs."

Euan Broderick: Giggs until end of season. Then look at options. Personally wouldn't mind Harry Redknapp, deserves chance with big club.

Chris Aswell: The players should club together 39k to compensate the 800 Utd fans who travelled to Denmark and paid £71 a ticket.

Sam Kinsley: If LvG doesn't move from the bench the whole game who is rallying the players? We need Roy Keane, someone the players fear.

Joe Timothy: Would Real, Barca, Bayern or PSG take this? I dont think so. You wanna be part of the elite? Act like it. LVG must go.

David Airey: Man U shouldn't sack LvG. It's keeping the spotlight off our problems at Newcastle.

Muigai Moses: Ed Woodward has to be the first out the door, having to replace both Gill & Fergie at the same time has set Man Utd backwards.

Sorry to spoil your day but it turns out this, external isn't Tino Asprilla after all, despite the former Newcastle forward's claims to the contrary.

Apparently, it's a promotional advert, external for a breed of horse. Either way, it's an odd state of affairs.
