    Goal, or not?published at 12:45

    Football

The big question from Man United's FA Cup win at Shrewsbury is this: should Juan Mata's goal have stood?

Three United player stood in offside positions as the free-kick was about to be taken, then all ran forward at the last moment, distrating goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler.

"Midtylland - our Europa League opponents - used to do that, so we asked the ref if we could and he said yes. So we did it and it worked out very good," said a very pleased Mata.

Reds boss Louis van Gaal, however, didn't seem as impressed. "It is unbelievable because I think the rules say that you cannot disturb the view of the goalkeeper," the Dutchman said, with admirable honesty.

Make up your own mind - the video of the free-kick is here.

It's not only Arsenal in Champions League action later, Juventus host Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich in Turin.

Guardiola is without centre-backs Javi Martínez (knee), Jerome Boateng (groin) and Holger Badstuber (ankle), which means midfielder Joshua Kimmich and full-back David Alaba could form a makeshift partnership.

"We don't have any central defenders, that's how it is. We've got to avoid conceding set-pieces," Guardiola said. "Juventus are maybe the best team in Europe from set-pieces."

Maarten Flaton: No. The tournament is favoring the big clubs and big leagues already. I'm from the Netherlands and we used to win the Champions League once in a while, now we're all too excited to finally have a team in the knockout stage. This years winner will be Real, Bayern or Barcelona as usual...

Liam Turvey: Think Chelsea are pushing this one more then most. If the football club is ran properly. Like a normal business. Missing out on the champions league for a season shouldn't make that big of a difference. That's how arsenal work. Other clubs should follow suit.

Jack Vines: Champions League, Champions of all of the 53 associations of Uefa and the cup winner of Liechtenstein. Europa League should be second to fourth of each league and the cup winners (runner-up of Liechtenstein) and should be more like the FA Cup.

'Arsenal is a good team for Barcelona'published at 11:49 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2016

    Arsenal v Barceona (19:45 GMT)

    Alexis SanchezImage source, Getty Images

Spanish journalist Ernest Macia has been on Radio 5 live to discuss tonight's Arsenal-Barcelona game.

“Arsenal is a good team for Barcelona. They like to play with the ball, they are an offensive team not a defensive team," he said.

"We were happy when we knew that Arsenal was to be the rival. They like to play a tiki-taka style/Barcelona style. They are good but this is good for Barcelona as well."

Macia added: “Alexis Sanchez must be very motivated. He showed he was a good player at Barcelona but he committed many mistakes during Guardiola’s time. We need tactically very, very good players and he was still growing. But now he has found a place in the Premier League at Arsenal and he will want to prove to his former mates that he was an exceptional player."

Commonwealth gold medallist Ben Proud is following the lead of former world champion Mark Foster by hitting the gym hard in his pursuit of glory at the Rio Olympics.

"This year we've definitely upped the anti in the gym and tried to get a lot stronger," the Plymouth Leander freestyler told BBC South West.

"I think Mark Foster definitely set the trend that you don't have to do a huge amount (of training) in the water, especially for a sprint event which lasts 21 seconds."

Calum MacLean: No wildcards into the Champions League, it's already a joke. Let's get back to it being for the top clubs from each league

Jay: If the wildcard system was such that Leicester/Tottenham would get into the CL at this stage (for example), I'm all for that.

Stephen: We all need to remember that it's "champions" only by name these days. It's about best in Europe, not if they've won anything.

"We're following him," says France national coach Didier Deschamps when asked by Canal+ about Leicester midfielder N'Golo Kante.

"At Caen he was putting in some good performances. Leicester are having a surprising season and he's performing very well.

"There are experienced players [in the France squad] and it's up to them to continue to perform well.

"If at some point I think that there is a player who can bring something more compared to another who's already there, I'll select him."
