The Sports Shield consortium and Inner Circle have completed their takeover of Championship side Bolton Wanderers.

Ex-Wanderers striker Dean Holdsworth will join the board of directors, while former owner Eddie Davies will become honorary president of the club.

This one comes from Ben from the Lowton C of E High School in Wigan, and he is one of the School Reporters in the BBC News School Report.

He says: "My first sporting memory was when my dad took me to a Liverpool match or when I cheated in the sack race at sports day – the sack was too big so I could run in it!"

Aston Villa have revealed that they made a pre-tax loss of £27.8m in the financial year to 31 May 2015., external That is big increase on a loss of £3.96 million in 2013-14. 

Their wage bill increased by £14.4m to £83.7m.

Villa are bottom of the Premier League table, nine points from safety.

Former Liverpool and England midfielder John Barnes has long hung up his boots. He has not hung up the mic however.

His lyrical skills were the highlight of the Anfield Rap and World in Motion more than 25 years ago, and now he has turned his attention to the Sugarhill Gang's Rappers' Delight.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is coming out retirement at the age of 45 to play for a Dutch amateur team.

Van der Sar answered an SOS after VV Noordwijk - his first senior club - were left without cover when their keeper picked up an injury.

"We are thrilled that Edwin wants to help," Noordwijk director Peter Vink told Voetbal in de Bollenstreek., external

It's not been the greatest couple of weeks for Peterborough United fans. Posh have lost five and drawn one of their six matches since the FA Cup fourth-round replay against West Brom and now their near 400-mile round trip to Fleetwood has been rearranged for a Tuesday night.

"My first sporting memory is when my dad and my mum took me to Anfield to watch Liverpool play against Wolves.

"The score was 1-0 to Wolves so lots of Liverpool fans were very angry. It was probably fuelled by the fact it was 9pm so many fans would have probably been grumpy and tired.

"Not the best first game to go to!"

Former Tottenham full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto has revealed that he plays in boots he bought off online auction site eBay because he does not want to "prostitute" himself to a sponsor.

The 31-year-old, now at St Etienne, told Canal Plus:, external "I'd rather be free than to prostitute myself for a sponsor.

"I buy shoes for €30 (£23). It’s a good price for comfortable boots. You can find them on eBay, and they’re not expensive."

Former Brazil and Inter Milan striker Adriano has arrived in the United States as he joins up with new club Miami United.

The 34-year-old, who scored 27 times in 48 games for his country, signed for the fourth-tier team in January after being released by Atlético Paranaense in 2014.

He has been dogged by injury and off-field issues in recent years.
