    BBC Radio 5 live

"Talks are continuing between Harry Redknapp and Derby County over a proposal to take him on as a coaching advisor till the end of the season.

"It had been reported that Redknapp was to be appointed as Derby's Director of Football but discussions about the job title haven't been a factor as negotiations continue about whether Redknapp will actually join the club.

"I understand Redknapp is also mulling over an offer to manage the Jordanian national side. He has told Derby that and talks will continue with the club tonight."

"I don't question my dedication, it is 100%. I give more time to my club now than when I arrived."

More from Arsene Wenger on Arsenal's disappointing season: "We have gone through a disappointing spell and it is important to remain calm and strong."

"It will be a big boost for the rest of the season if we have a great game tomorrow.

"We fight to win trophies and at the moment we are not favourites to deliver that this season.

"But no matter how big the challenge is, the Premiership is quite open despite what people think and in the Champions League we have a very small chance to give our best tomorrow."

"Congratulations to the Ricci/Mullins/Walsh axis for chalking up a memorable hatrick, but, with respect, I think it has to be considered good news for the sport that they didn’t prove completely invincible in the day’s Grade One races, with Min being turned over spectacularly by Altior in the Supreme Novices Hurdle.

"It gave a message to their opponents that despite the extraordinary level of expensively-assembled talent at Mullins HQ things don’t always go right even for them.Phew. Annie Power and Vroum Vroum Mag were fantastic but Douvan’s display was even better."

Villa's cull beginspublished at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2016

    Football

    Pat Murphy
    BBC Radio 5 live

"The cull of significant figures at Aston Villa's football department started today with the announcement that the sporting director Hendrik Almstadt has left the club with immediate effect.

"Almstadt's departure is a blow to Tom Fox, the chief executive who brought him from his old club, Arsenal last summer. Despite a commercial background, Fox brought Almstadt in to oversee player recruitment and he has struggled to make an impact.

"I understand the previous manager Tim Sherwood was unimpressed by a figure with no playing background operating in an area of player recruitment, while Remi Garde was equally sceptical.

"This decision underlines the determination of the new chairman Steve Hollis to carry out a root and branch investigation into all aspects of the club and it's the first time the playing side has been altered since his arrival in January.

"The club stresses there will be a replacement for Almstadt but today's decision will increase pressure on both Fox and Paddy Riley, the head of scouting and recruitment."
