    Sussex could be without England paceman Chris Jordan until the end of May after he agreed to join the Indian Premier League as a replacement.

    The 27-year-old has agreed a deal to join the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad after Australia's Mitchell Starc suffered an injury.

    "It is an exciting opportunity, and one that he mustn't turn down," Sussex coach Mark Davis said.

    Britain's Laura Robson won her first match in the main draw of a WTA tournament since 2013 as she beat Morocco's Ghita Benhadi at the Rabat Open.

    Robson, 22, broke serve six times on her way to beating the 18-year-old wild card 6-1 6-1 on the clay.

    Her last WTA main draw win came in September 2013, before a wrist injury required surgery and put her out of action for 17 months.

    Robson will play Hungarian fifth seed Timea Babos in the second round.

    UCI ban Belgian for hidden motorpublished at 13:08

    Belgian rider Femke Van den Driessche has been banned for six years by cycling's governing body - the UCI - after being caught with a hidden motor at the Cyclo-cross World Championships Under-23 race in Belgium in January.

    It was hidden, along with a battery, in the tube below the saddle. It was controlled by a Bluetooth switch installed underneath the handlebar tape.

    All her results from October last year have been annulled and she was ordered to return all prize money and medals.

    The first six members of the athletics squad that will represent Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games have been announced.

    The athletes will compete for Britain in the marathon and 50km men’s race walk events.

    In the men’s marathon, Derek Hawkins is selected alongside younger brother Callum and Tsegai Tewelde.

    Alyson Dixon and Sonia Samuels will compete in the women's marathon while 50km race walker Dominic King has also been selected.

    A statement on behalf of the Hillsborough families said the jury's conclusion that 96 Liverpool fans were unlawfully killed "completely vindicate" their 27-year fight for justice.

    It added it has brought "significant progress on the journey... and sense of closure to the bereaved".

    In the morning's other tie, China's Ding Junhui leads Wales' Mark Williams 6-2. That match continues at 19:00 BST.

    The afternoon session sees the start of two more ties: John Higgins v Alan McManus and Barry Hawkins v Marco Fu.

    Jess Varnish says she is willing to discusses her experience with the sport's governing bodies.

    She added: "For now I remain open to sharing my experiences with both British Cycling and/or UK Sport, and will happily engage with any investigations into the comments that Shane Sutton has made to me, and other riders."

    Jess Varnish added in her statement: "I hope that by shining a light on this culture, and sharing my experiences, the relevant people can investigate and make changes."

    Varnish, a world, European and Commonwealth Games medal-winner, missed out on a place in Rio after she and Katy Marchant finished fifth at last month's World Championships. 

    She saysshe refuses to believe her career is over.    

    Varnish (pictured below, left, with Victoria Pendleton) added: "I also want to compete for Great Britain again. I am not too old. I am not a waste of UK Sport's money. I can win more medals."

    Sutton, 58, denies any wrongdoing following Varnish's allegations and says British Cycling did not renew her contract because her times had slowed over the past three years.

    'I want to change British Cycling culture'published at 12:29

    British cyclist Jess Varnish says she wants "to change the culture at British Cycling and their treatment of women".

    The 25-year-old has released a statement standing by her claims that British Cycling chief Shane Sutton told her to "go and have a baby".

    Varnish, who will miss Rio 2016 after British Cycling did not renew her contract, says she has been contacted by other riders past and present who have experienced similar behavior.

    Olympic champions Victoria Pendleton and Nicole Cooke have both backed Varnish over her sexism claims, claiming they experienced similar treatment.

    The All England Club has announced that the men's and ladies' singles champions at Wimbledon this year will receive £2m for the first time.

    That's a 6.4% increase on last year, when respective world number ones Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams were both triumphant.

    The total prize fund is up to £28.1m - an increase of 5%.

    Tonia Couch believes she can end Britain's 56-year wait for a women's Olympic diving medal at Rio 2016.

    Couch, who claimed a career-best individual 10m World Series silver at the weekend, has regularly finished on the podium alongside new synchronised partner Lois Toulson this season.

    Elizabeth Ferris was the last GB woman to secure an Olympic diving medal, with bronze at the 1960 Games in Rome.

    "To get to the top you have to aim for the top," Couch, 26, told BBC Sport.
