Revenues up at Man Utdpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 13 May 2016

    BBC Sport

So, those Manchester United third quarter results...

    • Commercial revenue for the nine months to 31 March is up by 34.5% to £203.1m
    • Broadcasting revenue is up 38.6% to £92.7m
    • Matchday revenue is up 18.9% to £85m
    • Total revenue is up 31.6% to £380.8m

The Americans won 6-3 6-4 on the imposing Pietrangeli Court to advance to the semi-finals.

A busy news day at Manchester United will be starting shortly with their third quarter financial results. Those will be followed by a 13:00 BST conference call for investors with United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

In theory, this is an interesting opportunity for shareholders to ask Woodward about the performance of Louis van Gaal’s team – except they usually never do, concentrating instead on United’s next commercial ventures.

Finally, Van Gaal will be holding his last Premier League news conference of the season at Carrington at 15:30.

'Flores maybe did too well'published at 11:46 British Summer Time 13 May 2016

    Analysis

    Geoff Doyle
    BBC Three Counties Radio sport

Expect tears at Vicarage Road on Sunday as Quique Sanchez Flores waves goodbye to Watford fans. Let's be clear: the Spaniard does not want to leave. The owners and board made the decision.

Supporters are divided but the majority agree with the split. As stupid as it sounds, Flores may have done too well in the first five months of the season and expectation was cranked up.

Watford's worst performances have come in the last six weeks - since Flores found out he was surplus to requirements. Team selection has been poor and the attitude of a number of the players can be called into question. However it is hard not to feel that the job he had done up to that point had been more than good enough.

But for a lot of Watford fans the damage has been done.

Wilder may spring surprise at Bladespublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 13 May 2016

    Football

    Andy Giddings
    Sports Editor, BBC Sheffield

New Sheffield United bossChris Wilder says there could be a few surprises to the retained list when it is finalised.

The former Northampton manager says he's got the job on the basis of his "track record" not because of "his history with the club" where he had two spells as a player.

Wilder is "unfazed" by the challenge of try to turn the Blades into promotion contenders.

He confirms there was interest from two Championship clubs, with Charlton clearly one, Blackburn reportedly the other.
