So then. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ferenc Puskas... They're all set to come in now as well right? 

With that kind of team, there'll be no parking the bus...

Jay: That statement from Mourinho was a big let down. No mention of philosophy or a transitional phase.

Meg: Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte, Pochettino, Koeman, Klopp, Wenger, Ranieri, Bilic... Next season should be awesome.

Will he continue to blood the kids? Will he play rampaging attacking football? Will he stop it raining all the time?

Rio Ferdinand's already had his say on Jose at Old Trafford. Safe to say he's pretty excited... 

Here's part of a very long Facebook post he put up yesterday:, external "The first thing he needs to do is install 'winning mentality' back into the club. Get this ingredient back into the players but also the people that work inside the club day to day. Give them back that belief so it is breathing throughout the club again, which is so important. But doing the above in the Manchester United way is equally as important.

"After his recent unsuccessful time at Chelsea in the final year, I can assure you this winner is now a wounded animal which makes him such a mouthwatering appointment."

So then Manchester United fans. It begins. 

Jose Mourinho has been officially confirmed as United manager, signing a three-year contract.

A few words from Jose Mourinho: "To become Manchester United manager is a special honour in the game. It is a club known and admired throughout the world. There is a mystique and a romance about it which no other club can match.

"I have always felt an affinity with Old Trafford; it has hosted some important memories for me in my career and I have always enjoyed a rapport with the United fans. I’m looking forward to being their manager and enjoying their magnificent support in the coming years."

It's finally happened.

The first Test with Sri Lanka (won by England at a canter) was supposed to see Alastair Cook become the first Englishman to reach 10,000 Test runs. 

In the end the captain was dismissed for just 16 on the opening morning - in what turned out to be his only innings in an easy win.

Today could be the day though, if England bat first at Chester-le-Street. He only needs 20 more...
