Former Great Britain heptathlete Louise Hazel has been speaking to BBC Radio 5 live about the decision to uphold Russia's Olympics ban.

She said: "It’s a sad business but it’s also a step in the right direction. Just recently one of the Russian heptahletes was actually caught for doping offences as early back as 2009.

"It just goes to show that this something that is happening every single day and it affects the athletes that are competing now at the very top level. It’s our British athletes that are missing out on medal hopes.

"I’m really pleased to see they have taken a really strong stance and that the ban has been upheld. I think other sports really need to address what procedure they have in place of doping and how they maintain and look towards keeping a clean sport in the future."
