Which Premier League club have had the best transfer window?

Rob Knowles: If you look past quantity and just look for quality, that one-off wow deal has to be Everton. John Stones out for £47.5m and Ashley Williams in for £12m. Unbelievable business.

Stefan Glosby: Arsenal for giving the transfer report writers a summer break. Again

Matt Undergate: Everton selling Stones for that sort of money, great business

Si George: United have. Bought an entire spine for £160m. Four players averaging at £40m apiece, and all four - jury's still slightly out on Bailly, certainly for myself - are of high quality. People will say we've done bad business with Pogba, but I don't think we have as it stands.

  3. Other players who have returned to old clubpublished at 16:40

    BBC Three

Manchester United, the club that once considered Paul Pogba less of a priority than the likes of Park Ji-sung, Ashley Young and Tom Cleverley, have now smashed the world record transfer fee to bring the Frenchman back to Old Trafford.

How times have changed in just a few years. And as Pogba has made his big-money move to his former club, we take a look back at some other players who have taken a familiar walk back to their former clubs.

  4. Barker could return to game after four years outpublished at 16:30

Burton could hand Shaun Barker a contract more than four years after his last game - but only if he can prove his fitness.

The 33-year-old, who captained Derby under current Brewers boss Nigel Clough, has not played a competitive game since dislocating his knee and rupturing ligaments in March 2012.

He is set to start training with the Championship new boys after undergoing minor knee surgery.

"If we have room budget-wise and he is OK, then it is a no-brainer for us," Clough said.

Which Premier League club have had the best transfer window?

Harvey Mcane: Chelsea for stealing Kante for only £32m. Closely followed by Everton for scamming City then buying quality for only £12m. Worst business... United for buying back their own talent for 89m.

Rob Needham: Chelsea. Kante's the signing of the summer, Michy's a future superstar and once we sign a top defender, we'll be hard to break down again

Which Premier League club have had the best transfer window?

Barry Kane: Spurs without doubt. Not selling anyone to Madrid (So far) is the best business.

Mike Kebby: Clearly Spurs have had the best transfer window. I mean we've brought in loads of stars...oh, no, wait. Dreaming again.

Billy Stanbridge: United are buying a load of random individuals, all world class, but City are planning long term to gel their players together.

  9. Walker faces two-game ban for divepublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 9 August 2016

Hearts winger Jamie Walker is facing a two-match ban on a simulation charge following the penalty the winger was awarded and converted against Celtic.

Walker has until Wednesday at 15:00 BST to respond, with a possible hearing date set for Thursday.

Celtic captain Scott Brown called Walker "a cheat" after Sunday's match, which Celtic won 2-1, at Tynecastle.

Visiting manager Brendan Rodgers said that referee John Beaton had admitted he made a mistake with the penalty.

Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson said on Tuesday morning that he was disappointed by Brown's "cheat" comment.

  11. ZIdane not worried by Super Cup absenteespublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 9 August 2016

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is not concerned by the absence of key players for tonight's Uefa Super Cup with La Liga rivals Sevilla in Norway.

Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Toni Kroos were all left at home following runs to the Euro 2016 semis or final.

"I'm not worried by the players that aren't available," Zidane said. "They've been at the European Championship and then have had their holidays, that's to be expected.

"I would have liked to have everyone with us, but it's for the best that Kroos and Bale stay back and train in Madrid, because they've only just reported back.

"Cristiano and Pepe are getting better and they'll be back on 10 August."

Which Premier League club have had the best transfer window?

Connor Reece Ward: I definitely think Boro have done the best business! They look like a team that won't go straight back down, and getting Negredo was a steal!

Sam Devine: I'm sorry but clearly it was United of the big teams. Of the smaller teams, I would say Boro and also West Ham did well as a team with not as much money as the big teams.

  20. Burnley punish fans for pitch invasionpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 9 August 2016

Burnley have issued sanctions against 12 people following a minor pitch invasion against Preston on 22 April.

The sanctions range from stadium bans to acceptable behaviour agreements.

"There are still several fans who ran onto the pitch, but have not been identified. Club officials will continue to use CCTV to identify these supporters in the coming weeks," the club, now in the Premier League, added.

"In order to prevent the club from being in jeopardy of receiving a heavy fine from the FA, fans are again respectfully requested to stay within the seating area at Turf Moor and when visiting other clubs."
