  1. 'Pogba can be at heart of club for next decade'published at 08:36 British Summer Time 9 August 2016

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: “Paul is one of the best players in the world and will be a key part of the United team I want to build here for the future.

"He is quick, strong, scores goals and reads the game better than many players much older than he is.

"At 23, he has the chance to make that position his own here over many years.

"He is young and will continue to improve; he has the chance to be at the heart of this club for the next decade and beyond.”

  2. 'I just went for a holiday'published at 08:28 British Summer Time 9 August 2016

New Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba: "I just came back to Carrington. It was like I'd just come home. I just went for a holiday.

"I'm happy and I see everyone, the same people. It's just a great feeling.

"I would say it's destiny. First my mum told me I would come back here and I told her, 'You never know, we'll see'.

"For myself as well it's a big challenge too, just to come back to where I came from, where I grew up, where I started. I just didn't finish what I started here so I think I came here to finish it."

  3. Modern football...published at 08:17 British Summer Time 9 August 2016

A simple press release just isn't enough in the social media age.

While I was asleep, dreaming of Sportsday Live, UK rapper Stormzy (yes, that Stormzy. The Storm man. Stormo. The Stormeister General) "accidentally" posted a video to Twitter of him rapping and Paul Pogba dancing.

And just after 00:30 BST, United tweeted a glossy video showing the player - with a red devil marked into his hair - emerging from the shadows.

It was followed by a series of sponsor videos, including the Stormzy one.

So it finally happened while many of us were asleep.

Manchester United ended Real Madrid's monopoly on the world-record transfer by shelling out £89m for a guy who left the club for a small fee four years ago.

Welcome to sPOGsday. No, that doesn't work, does it? It's Sportsday. Just Sportsday.
