Long is doubt for Saints gamepublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 14 October 2016

Southampton v Burnley (Sun, 13:30 BST)

Southampton boss Claude Puel says striker Shane Long will be assessed in training tomorrow.

He suffered a small hamstring problem while playing for the Republic of Ireland.

“We will see with Long. He is a possibility perhaps," said Puel. "He has a little pain, but we will see this tomorrow in the training session."

On sidelined defenders Ryan Bertrand and Cedric Soares, he said: “There is some pain in the hamstring for Bertrand and for Long, and Cedric has a problem in his foot with the ligament. For Cedric, it is two or three weeks without training.

"I hope this player comes back quickly, because it’s important for the group and all these games in a short time to have all the squad available.”

Mourinho would be 'sad' to hear offensive chantspublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 14 October 2016

Liverpool v Man Utd (Mon, 20:00 BST)

Both clubs issued a joint statement saying they will eject fans who make discriminatory chants.

Songs about the Hillsborough disaster and Munich air crash have been heard in previous meetings.

United boss Jose Mourinho said: "In football we have some football tragedies, if you can speak that, which is a big match that you lost, the mistake that some player did, this kind of thing and you can make fun of it in a positive way.

"But the human tragedy is something much more serious. It's the last thing somebody should use in a football pitch because they were really big tragedies, not to forget but to respect. I will be really sad in such a big football match if that was a negative point."

  4. 'Comparable to El Clasico'published at 14:04 British Summer Time 14 October 2016

Liverpool v Man Utd (Mon, 20:00 BST)

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: “The season for me is not about the Anfield match and the Old Trafford match in January. The season is about many matches, many points to win, lose and targets to achieve.

"I always like to play at Anfield. I won many times there, I also lost. I won big matches, lost big matches so I cannot say I like to go there because I'm always successful, it's not true.

"I like the atmosphere, normally the characteristics of the matches.

"Being Manchester United manager means something more because we cannot compare the historical rivalry between my previous club and Liverpool and Man United and Liverpool.

"It's just a big match that can be comparable to Inter-Milan to Madrid-Barcelona, maybe Porto–Benfica. Maybe comparable to one of these matches and I like."

Klopp slams fixture changespublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 14 October 2016

Liverpool v Man Utd (Mon, 20:00 BST)

Jurgen Klopp admits his manager of the month award was tarnished by news that his team's game with Stoke has been moved to 27 December and the kick-off against Manchester City on 31 December altered to 17:30 GMT ahead of the 19:45 GMT start against Sunderland on 2 January.

"It's a nice prize, but unfortunately a second ago I saw the new fixture changes! I can't believe we have less than 48 hours between City and Sunderland. Maybe we can ask if there's another time for Sunderland."

  6. 'England not my problem'published at 14:02 British Summer Time 14 October 2016

Liverpool v Man Utd (Mon, 20:00 BST)

"That's not my problem, England's not my problem. It [his mental state] is good, he's prepared. He's training well, he's positive."

Mourinho out early to speak to mediapublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 14 October 2016

Liverpool v Man Utd (Mon, 20:00 BST)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Jose Mourinho was slightly early for his press briefing today and opted to play down his first visit to Liverpool as Manchester United boss.

Mourinho was in no mood to talk about past experiences at Anfield, Liverpool's form or Jurgen Klopp. He was not interested either in getting into a discussion about Wayne Rooney, who scored the only goal in last season's corresponding fixture.

The one thing he was prepared to expand on was the behaviour of the respective fans.

By all means make fun of stuff that happens on the pitch, he said, but real tragedies - such as Hillsborough and Munich - should be left out of it. Few would disagree with that.
