    Roberto Bautista Agut ousted last year's runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 6-4 to reach the Shanghai Masters semi-finals. 

    The Spaniard broke his French rival three times in the first set and once in the second as he raced through in one hour 12 minutes at the Qi Zhong Tennis Centre.

    Tony Pulis is hoping Nacer Chadli will impress his old club Tottenham at The Hawthorns tomorrow afternoon. The Belgian has scored three times since his reported £13m move from White Hart Lane and Pulis says: "Nacer has done well. We've been really pleased with him. Not just with how he's played but the way he's mixed with the group.

    "He has a good manner about him and the group look up to him. Let's hope he keeps scoring goals."

    Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew on West Ham's struggles: "The Europa League is always disruptive. I've been involved in that, it causes logistical issues and it's difficult to work out.

    "You can lose your way a little and maybe that's affected West Ham. It's certainly not a question of the manager or players' ability.

    "Moving to a new stadium can take away years of tradition. Fathers taking their sons to Upton Park etc. Some fans will find it difficult.

    "Dimitri Payet scored two great goals against us. His goal prior to the international break was phenomenal. He and Michail Antonio have been their highlights so far."

    Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has backed England interim boss Gareth Southate, a former Palace player.

    "Gareth, in my opinion, is a great choice for England. Now it's about results, we live and die by results. He's done well so far.

    "Part of being a manager that everything is centred on the results. Everything going on around that can make it difficult to get them.

    "We're trying to establish ourselves as a recognised Premier League club and you need that accreditation from international managers.

    "Andros Townsend's call-up was good for us and good for players like Scotty Dann, Wilfried Zaha, Jason Puncheon, Joel Ward. They've all been playing well for us.

    "If Gareth does get the job permanently he'll know the traditions of this football club."

    "His teams are well coached. They work up and down the pitch exceptionally well. They've got real talent. I've been involved in games with Pochettino a few times. He always comes in after for a drink. He's a good man."
