"Marcos Alonso is a bit of an underwhelming if solid signing at left-back, but Chelsea need bodies in defence and fans will hope he can do a better job than Baba Rahman did last year filling in for Cesar Azipilicueta.
"Alonso is of course the entrée to David Luiz's main course, which will probably be the most hair-raising deal for me since Jose sold Juan Mata to United."

Juve's website says he has signed on a temporary deal...until 2019. Sounds quite permanent to me. We'll clear that up when we hear more.

BBC World ServiceFrench club Lorient have some money to spend after Sunderland splashed the cash on their young Gabonese midfielder Didier Ndong.
Ironically some of it might be going back to the north-east, to Sunderland’s arch rivals Newcastle.
The French media are linking Cheick Tiote with a loan move to Lorient.
Tiote has also been linked to Anzhi and Galatasaray.
