    Ross Mooring from ChelseaFancast.com, external:

"Marcos Alonso is a bit of an underwhelming if solid signing at left-back, but Chelsea need bodies in defence and fans will hope he can do a better job than Baba Rahman did last year filling in for Cesar Azipilicueta.

"Alonso is of course the entrée to David Luiz's main course, which will probably be the most hair-raising deal for me since Jose sold Juan Mata to United."

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom fan Mark Thomas, from www.albiontillwedie.co.uk:, external

"It's turning into something of a demoralising transfer deadline day for Albion fans. We've gone from looking to sign the likes of Slimani, Carvalho and Camacho to snapping up an out of favour Watford defender and a free agent released by a Championship club.

"With time running out it's starting to look less and less likely that Baggies' boss Tony Pulis will bring in the four or five quality players he insisted he needed. On the outgoing side of things it appears Saido Berahino will remain at The Hawthorns, again something that won't go down too well with the Albion support."
