  1. 'Hart makes sensible move'published at 12:15 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

There has been a fair bit of sniping about Joe Hart and his loan to Torino.

But whilst they may not be Serie A title contenders, the club has a great history and, a bit like Manchester City used to be, live in the shadow of a more storied club elsewhere in the same city.

For Hart, it offers regular first-team football, the chance to experience a new culture and develop the aspects of his game manager Pep Guardiola feels he is deficient in.

First though, it is England, and the World Cup qualifier in Slovakia on Sunday.

Schalke attacking midfielder Max Meyer has been linked to Premier League clubs during this transfer window but his latest instagram post suggests he's going nowhere.

"Happy to be here," he says.

Tottenham may be one of the disappointed clubs.

  3. Williams heading back to Ipswichpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

Crystal Palace's Wales midfielder Jonny Williams is expected to join Ipswich Town on loan today.

This would be the 22-year-old’s fourth spell on loan with the Championship club.

    Joe Hart joins Torino

Here's what Joe Hart has to say about his move to Torino. My Italian is sketchy, so this is through a translator website...

"Suddenly my career has undergone a change, I interpreted it as a sign of destiny," he said.

"The move to Torino has come at the right time, in the right way.

"[Italian] goalkeeping is recognised throughout the world, so I am convinced I can learn a lot here at Torino."

Samir Nasri is another player who appears destined to be on the outside looking in at Pep Guardiola's brave new world at Manchester City.

The 29-year-old, who made an appearance as a substitute in Sunday's 3-1 win against West Ham United, is gifted but inconsistent and Guardiola is looking elsewhere for his midfield options.

Nasri still has a fine reputation, though, and there has been strong interest from La Liga with Sevilla, who can offer Champions League football after winning the Europa League final against Liverpool and Besiktas in Turkey.

    Crystal Palace

Terence Ford, founder of RedNBlueArmy.co.uk: "After a rapid start to the window, bringing in Mandanda, Tomkins and Townsend, Crystal Palace’s transfer business fell off a cliff.

"Adebayor and Chamakh were released and Gayle departed for Newcastle leaving the club with just two strikers in Wickham and Campbell. To say that the fans felt nervous would be an understatement.

"In the last 10 days, those fears have been alleviated and there is now potential for this window to be the Eagles’ best ever. Benteke and Remy coming in has transformed the look of our front line and adding Wilshere and Rincon today would resemble the stuff of dreams for many Palace fans."

There have definitely been certain transfers when I've gone "how much?"

Andy Carroll from Newcastle to Liverpool is a standout one. I couldn't believe the lack of experience Andy Carroll had and the amount of money.

He was proven to some extent but from another perspective he was a newbie.

Barry Kane: Can't believe Levy will shell out £30m for Sissoko. I don't see how he gets in the side if everyone else is available.

Rohit Singh: If chelsea bring back @DavidLuiz_4 at stamford bridge every blue fan is more than happy.

Nick Jobes: CPFC could be great for Wilshere. As long as he's injured for the 15 game losing streaks rather than the 3 game winning ones.

  13. Slimani heading to Leicester?published at 11:48 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    Leicester

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Algeria forward Islam Slimani appeared to be saying his farewells to Sporting Lisbon after the 28-year-old left the pitch in tears at the end of the meeting with Porto at the weekend - and Leicester will hope he has.

Slimani, an international colleague of Foxes forward Riyad Mahrez, has scored 33 goals in 44 games for Sporting since the start of last season and Leicester see him as a perfect addition to an attack also containing England striker Jamie Vardy.

The Portuguese side will be driving a hard bargain for one of their prize assets, however, and have no intention of budging from a valuation of around £35m.

  14. Ogbonna to Chelsea?published at 11:47 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    West Ham United

    OgbonnaImage source, Getty Images

Blowing Bubbles Monthly Magazine editor David Blackmore: "I'm not anticipating West Ham will make any major deadline day deals that'll break the transfer record fee paid for the now injured Andre Ayew but I suspect we might bring in another forward on loan.

"I'm hoping we'll also be able to acquire an experienced right-back. In many ways,  Manuel Lanzini, Dimitri Payet, and Sofiane Feghouli all likely to start in the side after the international break will feel like new signings.

"It is going to be very interesting, however, to see if anyone leaves today. The news that Enner Valencia could be on his way out will be welcomed by many as he hasn't quite been able to replicate his international form in claret and blue.

"But the worrying news emerging today is that Chelsea are interested in Angelo Ogbonna. He has been excellent for us and it would leave us terribly short at the back if he were sold."

All my moves bar one happened in the summer. I would sign at the beginning of pre-season. I'd usually sign and then at the beginning of a pre-season you go away on tour, which is when we'd generally move house.

My wife has had to move house four or five times on her own and she'd call me, I'd be in some glamorous place while she has a hundred boxes around her and a couple of kids.

Now since I've retired we have moved to Dubai and then back to Lytham. I've been there and experienced the absolute carnage, I didn't realise how hard it was and she did a great job.

Hull’s transfer business is not done yet despite signing three players yesterday.

Knowing he was desperately short of bodies to start with, manager Mike Phelan is working on more deals.

One of those could be a loan, so it could be a long night at the KCOM.

  18. Hull need 'two or three signings'published at 11:37 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    Hull City

Richard Uttley from the Hull City Official Supporters Club: "With the uncertainty over the ownership of the club and 13 fit senior players on the books, City fans can't be excused for wanting this transfer window to remain firmly wide open until the potential takeover is completed.

"Up until yesterday it was starting to look very bleak with the loss of Mohamed Diame and to a lesser extent Sone Aluko severely depleting the attacking ranks, making holding on to Abel Hernandez an absolute must.

"However, nine years after breaking the transfer record for Caleb Folan, City have smashed that with the acquisition of Ryan Mason from Spurs, this after the signing of David Marshall along with the addition of Will Keane from Manchester United has lifted the gloom slightly.

"Today offers the club the last chance to help out the players who have played their hearts out so far this season by adding to the ranks. Two or three are needed but how many will come through the KCOM doors, nobody really knows."

  19. Villa splash the cashpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

Will there be any further big money signings in the Championship?

There's plenty of money swilling around outside the Premier League - as Aston Villa demonstrated on Tuesday.

Villa signed Bristol City striker Jonathan Kodjia for an initial £11m fee that could rise to £15m.

The 26-year-old scored 20 goals in 52 games for Bristol City, after signing from French club Angers in July 2015.

  20. Next stop Spain for Nasri?published at 11:33 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    Man City

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri could complete a deal to join Sevilla before the transfer window closes. Nasri had been a target of Turkish club Besiktas but that deal will not go through.

Instead, Nasri, 29, is a target of last season's Europa League winners Sevilla, although wages are still to be agreed.

Meanwhile, Eliaquim Mangala, who like Nasri has been frozen out of the first team squad at City by new manager Pep Guardiola, is interesting a number of clubs.

Mangala’s former club Porto, who sold the defender to City for £32m two years ago, are one of the clubs keen on him, although the 25-year-old does have other options.
