I think need Chelsea need another striker. There have been problems up front with Diego Costa and his discipline.

Michy Batshuayi brings something else but I think there could be a surprise there. Something might come out of the blue at Chelsea and they could bring a striker in.

Bony cost City £25m in 2015, when he joined on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

    Le'EquipeImage source, L'Equipe

Could France be treated to the joy of Mario Balotelli this season?

L'Equipe, the French sports paper, reports that Liverpool's "whimsical" (their word, not ours) forward is in Nice for a medical in preparation of a loan or permanent transfer to the Ligue 1 club.

A Nice official told l'Equipe no agreement had been reached and that the medical was "to save time" if an agreement can be made.

"If the situation works out, maybe late in the day, it will be done. If we don't agree with Liverpool, he will leave again," the official added.

Ghana international Christian Atsu will join Newcastle at some point today on a season long loan from Chelsea. I understand it'll be with an option to buy.

Atsu has had a peculiar career. I've seen him play some wonderful football for his country and he was player of the tournament at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

But at club level he had two unsuccessful loan spells at Everton and Bournemouth where he hardly played. Atsu spent the second half of last season at Malaga.

Rafael Benitez is said to be a big fan so maybe he can finally get the best out of the 24-year-old winger. The talent is definitely there.
