Notts County are to face their second winding-up petition of the year brought by HM Revenue and Customs.
The case against the League Two side is to be heard on 19 December, having had a separate order dismissed in May.
Notts, who are 15th in the fourth tier after 18 games, were also put under a temporary transfer embargo in May for money owed to football creditors.
The club, which was put up for sale by owner Ray Trew in February, declined to comment when contacted by the BBC.
Trew met potential buyers from the United States and China in March and, with no deal struck, he later approached local businessman Alan Hardy about a potential takeover in October.

"I most probably could be that woman…"
That's what two-time Olympic champion boxer Nicola Adams has said about the potential of being the first woman to headline a show at Vegas.
“I love pressure,” she told BBC Radio 4. “It makes me perform ten times better. I like the feeling of ‘if I get this wrong I might die’.”

Auay Jokesomefun: 93/94 UEFA Cup; Norwich City beating Bayern Munich two goals to one in Munich.
Adam Smith: Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool in the CL 2009. 2-0 down at HT, 3-3 on agg. Then went 3-2 up before going 4-3 down. Then 4-4. Mayhem.
Mike Roebuck: Boca Juniors match last Sunday. 20 mins gone - riot police broke up a fight with the players and 1 each side got sent off.
I like this Mike, a match that's memorable not purely for the result. How about the time Sunderland beat Liverpool courtesy of Darren Bent's balloon deflection?

Can you imagine an MP running the line in a Champions League match? No? Well that's exactly what leading Scottish Conservative MSP Douglas Ross did on Tuesday.
Ross missed a parliamentary committee to work as an assistant referee at the match between Sporting Lisbon and Real Madrid.
It has led to calls for Douglas Ross to stand down from his frontbench role as the party's justice spokesman.
It certainly brings a new meaning to politicians with second jobs...
Rugby league
Scotland have risen five places to an all-time high of fourth in the rugby league world rankings.
The Scots held New Zealand to an 18-18 draw in the recent Four Nations, becoming the first side from outside the top three to avoid defeat by the Kiwis, Australia or England since 1990.
Australia usurp New Zealand as world number one after hammering their rivals 34-8 in the Four Nations final.
England stay third, with Ireland eighth and Wales ninth.
USA and Canada, who have been jointly awarded the 2025 World Cup, appear in the top 12 nations for the first time at 10th and 12th respectively.

Manchester United v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)

BBC Sport at the Aon Training Complex
Quite amusing press conference at the Aon Training Complex this afternoon.
First, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho comes in and says Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying at the club for a second season.
Ten minutes later, Zlatan comes in and says there have been no discussions.
Complicated? Not really. Ibrahimovic signed a one-year deal with the option of a further season that United can trigger.
If Ibrahimovic does not want to stay, it is for him to argue his case, which he won't if he feels as he is now.
Got it?
Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals he was offered the chance to join Manchester United in 2015, but rejected the opportunity and decided to stay at Paris St-Germain for a further season.
"I was happy at PSG and didn’t feel the moment was there," said Ibrahimovic. "I came here when I was 35. I could stay at home and feel happy but no, I will travel alone and conquer wherever I go."

Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Like his manager Jose Mourinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn't seem overly concerned about the team's recent struggles, attributing them to the "craziness" of the Premier League.
"We have a couple of games where we have been dominating totally and don't get the result we deserve - if you call that bad luck then yes we have been unlucky," said Ibrahimovic.
"But I feel that also that is the Premier, teams do not control matches, it is back and front, back and front.
"Teams fight until the last minute, that's the way it is here. Here anything can happen. Crazy things happen."

British DJ Norman Jay has a left-field choice of black British hero, but he firmly believes that former Tottenham player and British soldier Walter Tull deserves more recognition.
“He played for Tottenham in 1909. He also fought for this country in the Great War and was killed in action in 1918," Norman said.
"To this day, the British Government nor the British Army have recognised that bravery by awarding him his military cross. That’s why Walter Tull is my black British hero.”

Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has won league titles with Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris St-Germain and scored eight goals in 17 games since joining Manchester United in the summer.
He is asked, pretty harshly: "Why aren't you shining like you did at your other clubs?"
Ibrahimovic, never one to be lacking confidence, responds: "I shine 24 hours, so it depends how you want me to shine.
"I've been in the game for 20 years so I'm getting old yes, but as I get older I get better I feel. I'm shining, in one way or the other. If you want me to shine any more for you, I will do it for you."
Man United v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has just said the club will be giving 35-year-old striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic a second year at Old Trafford.
Now it is the Swedish striker's turn to face the media, and he says a contract extension is "automatic after a while", but the criteria has not been fulfilled yet.
"We didn't even have any discussions, we had a contract that said one plus one," says Ibrahimovic. "I feel good I feel fresh, I feel like now I will probably take a second year.
"I want to be honest with myself and I don't want to waste time, but if I feel like now then yes. The second year goes automatic after a while, there's no word from me and no word from them. If it continues like this then it is a yes."

Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Jose Mourinho has rubbished the chances of bidding for Argentina and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, saying the five-time Ballon D'Or winner "belongs to Barcelona".
"Lionel Messi is every season the same story, every season he is going to leave and he never does," he said.
"I hope he never leaves. He belongs to Barcelona, the beautiful thing for him would be to start and finish at Barca."
Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be given a second year at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho has confirmed.
The 35-year-old striker signed on a free transfer in the summer on a one-year deal, but with the option of extending that for a second.
"Zlatan's situation is simple," said Mourinho.
"He has one plus one. We are happy with him. We are going to execute the option of a second season. After that he can do what he wants."
Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is asked by BBC Sport's Simon Stone how long it will take before the club are competing at the level the manager wants.
Mourinho replies: "I think the three years contract I was given, it is a fair period of time to be where we want to be.
"Three years is not just about the transfer windows we have, it is about my relationship with the players and my understanding of the players, of my personality in the club, and stability.
"It is a fair period of time, but if you ask me if I am waiting for my third year to have good results - no. I am going immediately to try this season to get results.
"Let's go step by step. I am in the beginning of my contract. If you ask me would I like to stay here for more time than three years, yes I would. I would love it, but I have to deserve that."
Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Manchester United are third in their Europa League group, one point behind both Feyenoord and Fenerbahce with two games to go.
"We need four points to qualify, we don't need to be with the calculator and we don't need to be waiting for somebody not to win, or to score this or that," says Mourinho.
"It is so simple - we need four points to qualify, a victory and a draw. Tomorrow becomes a game where defeat, we are out. So we approach that game knowing it is a knockout game for us."
Man Utd v Feyenoord (Thursday, 20:05 GMT)
Manchester United have only won three of their last nine games in all competitions, but boss Jose Mourinho has been delighted with the fact the Old Trafford fans have fully supported him and the team.
Mourinho says: "Manchester United fans, what can I say? I am amazed with the way they are with the team.
"We let them down a couple of times with a couple of really bad performances, but we never let them down in terms of the quality of the game, the commitment and the enthusiasm - never in that area."
