The vision you see above these words is the new Juventus logo, which apparently was a year in the making and, according to club president Andrea Agnelli, "is a symbol of the Juventus way of living".

It was given a glitzy launch last night (in the fashion capital of Milan for some reason) and there is an extraordinary 90-second promotional video,, external accompanied by a throaty voice-over, featuring flames, a sonogram of a child in the womb and ballet dancers.

The launch was supported by the slogan "black and white and more".

The stylised black and white letter J in the shape of a shield replaces the current crest which features a silhouette of a charging bull, a symbol of Juve's home city of Turin.

Some might argue there is a fair amount of bull surrounding this new design.
