There’s almost a sense of grief in the city today, with many having lost their ‘favourite uncle’.
Claudio Ranieri was the man that brought the dream to life by winning the Premier League title.
It has gone sour this term with players underperforming, new signings not working out and baffling tactics at time from the Tinkerman.
I thought they would get relegated with Ranieri in charge. I hated to say it. I hoped it wouldn’t come true and I’d be proved wrong.
This gives them a chance. A different kind of chance to stay up.
Wow - people are really cut up about Ranieri losing his job...

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock will sign a new contract to stay at Cardiff City Stadium.
Warnock, 68, whose deal was set to expire in the summer, has agreed a one-year extension to remain in the post in 2017/18 after a series of talks.
Warnock, expects to sign a contract within 24 hours. Coaching staff Kevin Blackwell, Ronnie Jepson and Andy Dibble will also remain at Cardiff.
"I'll be here as long as the fans want me," Warnock told BBC Wales Sport.
