Juventus can claim the first title of a possible domestic and European treble when they face Lazio in the Coppa Italia final in Rome on Wednesday.

Juve need a point from their final two matches to secure a sixth consecutive Serie A title, despite having lost 3-1 to closest rivals Roma on Sunday.

They play Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Cardiff on 3 June.

And victory over Lazio, fourth in the league, would secure the Italian Cup for a third successive year.

It appears 17 May has had mixed fortunes for Arsenal fans in the past...

In 2000 Arsenal were beaten by Galatasaray in a penalty shoot-out in the Uefa Cup final in Copenhagen.

In 2006 the Gunners were beaten 2-1 by Barcelona in the Champions League final in Paris.

In 2014 Arsene Wenger's side won their first trophy in nine years by beating Hull 3-2 at Wembley to claim the FA Cup.

Why is Mazzarri leaving?published at 16:28 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

    Geoff Doyle
    BBC Three Counties Radio sport

There have been problems rumbling at Watford all season with Mazzarri in charge and it was just a question of when it would come to a head.

These have included training issues (players undercooked pre-season, overcooked towards the end of the season) causing unrest in the squad and possibly the reason for long-term injuries to five or six current key players.

His relationship with skipper Troy Deeney has appeared strained for most of the season with the influential captain dropped three times in the past two months.

There seems to have been unhappiness within the squad with the tactics, formations and philosophy of the 'old school' boss. It certainly appeared Mazzarri had 'lost' the dressing room weeks ago.

His lack of English has irritated the club, fans, media and players with instructions on the training ground and in games via interpreters.

When the bad run came, Mazzarri had little or no support anywhere around the club. The inevitable has occurred.

Fernando Alonso is confident he will be in good shape for qualifying and the race at the Indianapolis 500 after the second day of practice.

Spain's two-time Formula 1 champion spent Tuesday's test learning about his car's behaviour in traffic on the 220mph+ superspeedway.

"We keep experimenting on set-up and on running in traffic," Alonso said.

"We didn't put everything together - it's not time to. But I think we will arrive OK to qualifying and the race."

The 35-year-old McLaren driver, who is missing the Monaco Grand Prix to compete at Indy on 28 May, completed 117 laps on Tuesday and was 24th fastest out of 33 runners with an average speed of 221.029mph.

Uefa to return to on pitch trophy presentationspublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

Uefa has decided that trophies at club and international level will be presented to the winning captains on the pitch from this year.

"The pitch is the players' stage and it is only fitting that their achievements are celebrated there," Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin said.

"It also makes sense that the officials should come down from the stands to the players - to their arena - and pay tribute to them in presenting the trophy and medals on the playing surface."

The 23-year-old is out of contract but, amid interest from West Brom, Leeds' contract offer means a transfer fee can be awarded at tribunal.
