  2. Terry: I'll boss the Bluespublished at 08:10 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    The Sun

Similar story in The Sun this morning.

Speaking to the press yesterday, John Terry said, "I can't wait to get started now and look to help the squad achieve something special this season.

  3. 'I'll be back as the boss'published at 08:04 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    Daily Mirror

It was a big day in the Championship yesterday as the latest signing at Aston Villa was a bona fide Premier League hero/villain - depending on your viewpoint...

Ex-Chelsea captain John Terry joined Steve Bruce's side on a year long contract with the sole aim of helping them in their promotion battle ahead.

Terry said he turned down offers to carry on playing in the Premier League for more money because he did not want to play against Chelsea.

The Mirror say he wants to return to Chelsea in the future as the manager...

Meanwhile, on Centre Court, (see what I did there), world number one Andy Murray opened proceedings, overcoming a hip injury to reach the second round in straight sets against an entertaining Alexander Bublik.

Johanna Konta also eased into round two, beating Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Su-Wei, 6-2, 6-2.

    More on the tennis later.

First, a look at today's sports pages...
