    Just to recap on what Ronald Koeman has told the media.

    Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson has passed a medical at Everton and is close to completing a £45m move to Goodison Park. He will not be involved in Thursday's Europa League game with Hajduk Split but could feature at Manchester City in the Premier League on Monday (20:00 BST).

    Also Ross Barkley, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham, has suffered a suspected hamstring injury and has not trained for several days.

    Ronald Koeman says he does not know whether Ross Barkley's suspected hamstring injury will impact on him leaving Everton during the summer transfer window.

    Koeman adds: "There is no update about his situation."

    Asked if Barkley was in his plans this season, Koeman added: "I will wait until the end of August."

    "He stopped training last Monday. It looks like a hamstring injury but he need to do more tests today and tomorrow to know exactly what the injury is."

    Koeman said he did not know how long Barkley would be out for.

    Some sad news to bring you.

    Former Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has revealed he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The 62-year-old was diagnosed two years ago and has decided to go public to help raise awareness of the illness.

    "Right now I am still fine, except for being a bit forgetful with some names but I am determined to continue enjoying my life," said Calderwood.

    An air of pessimism has descended on Manchester United's pursuit of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.

    Jose Mourinho was hopeful of securing Perisic as his fourth signing of the summer.

    The United boss feels Perisic has the mental toughness required to help United through the tougher tests of the season.

    However, a well connected source at Old Trafford has told me he doubts whether a deal will be done before the 31 August transfer deadline.

    It's just over two years since Alex Bruce appeared in the Premier League but the former Hull defender say he is enjoying life in League One with Bury.

    Bruce, 32, has signed a short-term deal with the Shakers although he says he would like to stay "long term".

    This is such a crucial time for Tottenham's future and the direction they want to go in after taking such huge strides over the past couple of seasons.

    Former Tottenham and Portsmouth forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has left Las Palmas - two days before the club starts their La Liga campaign against Valencia.

    Las Palmas cited "irreversible personal reasons" for Boateng's departure.

    He had a contract with La Liga side until 2020 after signing for them a year ago following a six-month absence from the sport after leaving Italy's AC Milan.
