They have been busy at the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Tonight's game against Everton gives Manchester City a chance to show off the improvements they have made to the main stand this summer.

    This includes new dressing rooms.

And, having had a tour on Friday, I can confirm if manager Pep Guardiola wants to get his point across, and stands on the City badge shown in the picture, his voice will boom around the room.

And, fans who have shelled out for Tunnel Club hospitality will see the players as they head on to the pitch, and leave it for that matter - pay close attention if someone is unlucky enough to get sent off.

At the end, they will even be able to watch them conducting their post-match TV news conferences.

It is not quite as open as sports events are in the United States but is about as 'access all areas' as you are likely to get in England.

More on Dougie Freedman returning to Crystal Palace to take up a new role as sporting director.

Former Palace manager and player Freedman, 43, applied for the vacant head coach role at Hearts earlier this month, saying the Scottish Premiership side's director of football model would play to his strengths.

"I'm delighted that Dougie has agreed to accept the position and look forward to continuing Crystal Palace's progression to become a solid Premier League club with the right infrastructure," said Eagles chairman Steve Parish.

    Swansea City

Swansea City have agreed a fee with Hull City to sign midfielder Sam Clucas, BBC Wales Sport is reporting.

The Swans are looking for a replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson after the Icelandic International moved to Everton for £45m.

  7. Nasri lost his waypublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 21 August 2017

    Football

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

There was a time when Samir Nasri was one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League.

Manchester United were keen on him, Arsenal wanted to keep him and Manchester City felt it was a bit of a coup when he joined them in 2011.

Nasri was part of City's first title winning team and man of the match when they beat Sunderland in the EFL Cup final in 2014.

It all seems such a long time ago now.

An Achilles injury in November 2015 ruled him out for five months and Pep Guardiola said Nasri was overweight when he returned for pre-season training last summer.

A loan to Sevilla last season and now a permanent move to Turkey all feels a bit of an anti-climax for such a talented player.

  15. Chelsea must give '150%' - Courtoispublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 21 August 2017

    Chelsea

Chelsea may have needed the "wake-up call" of losing to Burnley last week to show them the level of effort required to defend their Premier League title, says goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

The 25-year-old admits Antonio Conte's side "started bad" with defeat at home on the opening weekend of the season.

They responded with Sunday's 2-1 victory over Tottenham.

"We don't have the easiest start but this victory is good for the confidence," he said.

"Maybe we needed as a group a little wake-up call and say 'look, we need to give 150% this year and not 100%'."
