It has been an emotional night - for us, for the Denver Broncos, for the Carolina Panthers and for Coldplay's roadies. It was a tense defensive battle in the end and Cam Newton couldn't quite make it happen for Carolina. I'm running out of caffeine fast now so it's time to say goodbye until next season. Who will win Super Bowl 51?

Cam Newton didn't have a game to remember... Maybe next time.

Denver run down the clock and Carolina can do nothing with no timeouts. Josh Norman of the Carolina Panthers congratulates Manning as he leaves the field - probably for the last time as an NFL player. Not long left now.

Anderson starts with a run for Denver which makes no gain. Could this be the last two minutes that we see Peyton Manning on an American football field? He's going to go out in style here.

Denver run down a big chunk of the clock after three pretty weak running plays that have little effect. Another drive, another three-and-out. Under five minutes left - surely Carolina will get a first down?

No progress by Carolina on a third down and Denver's defence is on top yet again! This is a real defence fest of a Super Bowl! Norwood gets the ball back for Denver after the fourth-down punt and Manning returns to the field.
