Jared Goff is really struggling with the noise out there. He can't hear the play call or communicate to his team-mates too well either. A proper test!

Third down. Can they get that first down? It's the end of the first quarter.

Right, Rams, time to get your act together. They haven't picked up a single first down yet. CJ Anderson runs it for the first time and picks up five.

I think that the Saints are still not firing on all cylinders. If the Rams can get going they can win this.

For all of the Rams' firepower on offence, the key to victory at the Superdome could lie with star defensive lineman Aaron Donald and his ability to get after Drew Brees.

The 27-year-old signed a six-year contract extension worth a staggering $135m (£104m) with the NFC West side before the start of the season and repaid that faith with a league-high 20.5 sacks during the regular season.

His dominant performances on the Rams defensive line have seen Donald emerge as favourite to be named Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

"He's played as well at that three-technique position that we've seen in years," Saints head coach Sean Payton said about Donald earlier this week.

"I mean, arguably and I don't know even if it's an argument, he's the best defensive player today in football. His numbers, his production, it shows up in the run game, it shows up in the passing game and it's a challenge."

    Time to show up...

Jared Goff can't find a pass on third and long - they'll have to punt it away.

They've made a grand total of five yards so far...

It's punted back. Drew Brees will have it back.

Our pundits were talking before the game about how the crowd in New Orleans is so loud that the QB can find it hard to hear from his coaches. Jared Goff had to have the volume turned up inside his helmet before this drive.

Can the Rams find some rhythm?

Andrew Priestley: Two very difficult games to predict, although it is hard to see past the two home sides winning. The Rams will need a huge performance to leave the Superdome with a win, the potential upset (as ever) will come from the immensely experienced Patriots against the Chiefs.

Rarely will be a team be so happy to be 6-0 down. The Rams will know they got away with that - it was a horrible place to turnover the ball.

Great defence by the Rams though - they shut out the Saints' offense and it will be another field goal attempt.

The Rams running game has been sensational all year but Todd Gurley's first run of the night goes nowhere. Absolutely stuffed.

So Rams QB Jared Goff will get the ball in his hands for the first time. Easy to say from here but he looked nervous before the kick-off. The biggest game of his life. And he's hoping to get to an even bigger one...
