  5. Lutz on the dreaded double doinkpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Saints kicker Wil Lutz landed a 60-yard field goal before seeing his 61-yarder hit the uprights not once, but twice, before agonisingly dropping just the wrong side of the bar.

“I thought they were both in - I hit them both out of the screws,” said Lutz. “I was a little surprised when the second one didn’t bounce in as I hit it just as I wanted to.

“I heard the first doink, saw the second one then saw them celebrate so knew it didn’t go in.

“I hit them both as flush as I could, I’m just stone cold shocked that the second one didn’t go in.

“I gave it a chance but just didn’t get the right bounce – it’s just so frustrating. I wanted to hit that kick for the team, we needed to win today.”

  8. 'It took a lot of grit'published at 17:58 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 28-25 New Orleans Saints

MVP Justin Jefferson in his on-field interview:

"We know this type of team, they are not the type of defense to put two people on me and double cover so we worked on those one-on-one battles and came up with some great plays.

"It took a lot of grit, this whole game we had to keep executing plays, we had long drives throughout the game - we had to fuel up and put a lot of juice in our bodies. It's a great win. You don't want to come eight hours over here and not get the W."

  9. 'Penalties hurt us'published at 17:58 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 28-25 New Orleans Saints

Saints head coach Dennis Allen has now lost three in a row to slip to 1-3 for the season, and he felt that penalties cost them dear today.

Especially a late pass interference call that set-up a late Vikings touchdown.

"I thought it was a tough call," he said. "I wasn’t a fan of some of the calls tonight but we’ve got to look at ourselves and the penalties that we gave away that really hurt us.

"I thought out defensive guys battled their tails off. Offensively we had no rhythm in the first half but we did better in the second and we ran it better, Latavius Murray certainly gave us a spark."

As "London Calling" booms out over the speakers at Tottenham the crowd is still buzzing as they file out of the stadium, with the Vikings players just below us here in the press box getting a huge reception from the fans in purple in the stands - which there are still plenty!

  11. 'Our defense kept getting us the ball back'published at 17:46 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 28-25 New Orleans Saints

Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins in his on-field interview:

On the last-gasp missed field goal: "I saw it going left, it hit the upright, then hit the crossbar and I thought it bounced backwards - but apparently it bounced forwards. Crazy.

"It was a tough sledge all day finding ways to move the ball and in the redzone we kept stubbing our toe.

"But our defense kept getting us the ball back via turnovers and special teams were huge, all kinds of different plays - and we got a win.

"I'd already flown home once after an overtime loss here and I didn't want to do it again!"

Minnesota Vikings 28-25 New Orleans Saints

Wow! The NFL keeps on delivering the goods this season and what an ending to this game here as we saw the lead swapped about in the fourth quarter before that dramatic ending.

The roof almost blew off the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Wil Lutz booted the ball as it looked like he'd landed another bomb, before those two doinks off the uprights sparked wild celebrations from the Vikings faithful.

    What a game.

Oh. My. Word. Wil Lutz gets not one but two doinks as the ball bounces around off the uprights and falls just the wrong side of the crossbar and the kick is no good this time.

That's agony for the Saints and joy for the Vikings as they clinch the win by the narrowest of margins.

Here we go again, can Wil Lutz make another 60-yarder to force overtime? It's 61 yards officially and the Vikings call a timeout to make Lutz have a little think about this one.

Huge play by Andy Dalton and he gets the Saints to the 43 with a big pass to Tre'Quan Smith. It'd be a 60-yard kick from here...
