  1. touchdown

Touchdown - Saintspublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 7-7 New Orleans Saints

    Nice catch Chris Olave.

The rookie wide receiver is under heavy pressure right on the whitewash but he hauls in Andy Dalton's throw.

It's given as a touchdown but the officials are just checking the ball has definitely crossed the plane of the endzone. Might need a few replays.

The touchdown is upheld - it's Olave's first in the NFL. What a place to get it. Wil Lutz adds the extra point and we are level.

  2. Third down - againpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 7-0 New Orleans Saints

Mark Ingram takes a short catch but he's down four yards out.

It's not good news for Minnesota on the injury front.

Rookie safety Lewis Cine has been taken to hospital after that horrible looking injury a few minutes ago. Could well be a broekn ankle.

Tyrann Mathieu steps in to make a timely interception for the Saints, and boy did the 'honey badger' enjoy that one. He charges to the endzone to celebrate, surrounded by the rest of the New Orleans defensive unit.

Another much-needed morale-booster for the Saints, giving them a platform to build on in the second quarter now.

Really not sure what to make of the Saints' mascot.

At least if they lose, he can take defeat on the chin.

  10. London games mean another day of NFL bingopublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings v New Orleans Saints (14:30 kick-off)

It was like NFL bingo at Stratford overground station this morning. As soon as I set foot on the platform I saw fans wearing at least 10 different NFL jerseys. Within five minutes, I saw fans repping another 10 teams.

Some Brits were explaining to a Saints fan from New Orleans, on his first trip to London, how it may be the Saints and Vikings in action today but the London games are a day out for all NFL fans.

And not just from the UK either. I've met fans from Germany, Denmark and the US. With the pandemic seemingly now behind us, it seems even more US fans than ever want to visit the UK and see what the London games are all about.

  11. End of the first quarterpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 7-0 New Orleans Saints

Decent first quarter for the Vikings ruined at the end by the interception, not much to talk about from the Saints offence so they'll to get moving in this second 15 minutes.

Not the best decision from Cousins and Tyrann Mathieu spots it early and jumps the route to grab the interception for the Saints.

And how they needed that one!

  13. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Just 19 yards of offence for the Saints in this first quarter - that won't get the job done against anyone.

  14. Injury breakpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 7-0 New Orleans Saints

A truly awful looking injury for the Minnesota Vikings and their safety Lewis Cine, who has picked up a horrible ankle injury when covering the Saints punt.

He's being taken off on the cart so fingers crossed for him.

A huge roar went up from the New Orleans fans after that sack on Kirk Cousins, forcing the Vikings to punt. After a disappointing first drive with Andy Dalton under centre, the Saints' back-up quarterback soon got the ball back in his hands. But that drive was also snuffed out in the blink of an eye.

Just nine yards from two drives so far and not one first down.

  16. Dalton sackedpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 7-0 New Orleans Saints

Andy Dalton can't get the ball away in time and he's taken down by the Vikings defence for the sack that will force the Saints to punt from the edge of their own end zone.

  17. Almost picked!published at 15:03 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Andy Dalton makes a dicey throw and it's almost picked off by the Vikings who have some blanket coverage going on in the secondary.

  19. Cousins sacked!published at 15:00 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 7-0 New Orleans Saints

Kirk Cousins can't get the ball out in time on the third down and he's taken down by a swarming Saints defence for the sack and loss of five yards.

The New Orleans fans here go nuts - it's not quite Superdome loud here at Tottenham but it's pretty loud!

  20. Postpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 2 October 2022

Minnesota Vikings 7-0 New Orleans Saints

Cousins hits Adam Thielen on a couple of passes, but then misses his target on a third passing attempt to bring up another big third down - and the Saints fans make some noise..
