Ah, here's the rain. Brollies are up around MediaCity.

Just to point out, a number of places around the city are offering free or discounted drinks and food to runners today.

I did hear rumour of free paella going somewhere in Spinningfields.

Free. Paella. Two words that look pretty exciting when placed in succession.

We have a shout out for a certain Margaret Butler, who is running today to celebrate her 65th birthday. Happy birthday and good work!

If I'm still able to run 10k at 65 I'll be very happy. Especially as the use of the word 'still' there was rather generous to my current abilities...

Remember us talking about how the weather was great? Remember when I described it as scorching? Well, you should also remember that this is Manchester.

A heavy rain shower has been forecast for 2pm. And it's looking pretty gloomy in MediaCity already.

With one wave left to start their race, and thousands still out on the course, please stay away rain.

Judy’s son will need a kidney transplant when he's older and his classmate Natalie Elliot, 11, received one just seven months ago.

Keep up the good work Judy, and all the kidney beans out on the course!

Another inspirational story this time from 15-year-old Brooke Taylor.

Born with a birth defect, after a series of health complications, Brooke will be completing the run with her Mum and surgeon from the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, who Brooke is raising money for.

Her Dad, Mark, says: "Not only has the man saved her life he will now be running with her, it is absolutely fabulous."
