    Paula Radcliffe
Women's marathon world record holder on BBC Two

The leaders have just passed the 8k mark in the Women's Elite Race.

"Dibaba is pushing really hard, but Edna Kiplagat is hanging on in there, she’s making Dibaba work for this.

"Dibaba looks as though she's starting to struggle - unless she's faking it!"

"You can see she doesn't have the miles in her legs."

    Steve Cram
BBC athletics commentator on BBC Two

"Dibaba won’t just want to win, she’ll want to win well. She has to find out what shape she's in."

She's doing just that at the moment, with Edna Kiplagat the only athlete looking capable of keeping up.

  6. 'I'm not sure what to expect'published at 11:38 British Summer Time 22 May 2016

Here's Ralph Weldon from Harrogate explaining what has inspired him to take part in his first Great Manchester Run.

    Why do you run?

"I work for the RAF as an Aircraft technician so I need to keep fit. I enjoy running it's easy and free to do all you need is a pair of trainers."

    Run history?

"I normally run around Harrogate about two or three times a week for about an hour. I've been running for ten years I like running outdoors and listening to music it helps me clear my head."

    Why this race?

"My girlfriend lives in Manchester, she has done a couple of races and suggested I get involved. It's not something I'd ever thought of doing before."

How are you feeling ahead of the run?

"As I've never run an official race before or done anything like this I'm not really sure what to expect. My aim is just to not fail."

Why do you do the Great Manchester Run?

"The shops. It’s a good time to do some shopping. I’m that slow it’s as good a time as any…"

So Chris Chittell, of Emmerdale fame, tells BBC Two's Phil Jones.

A touching tribute to Kirsty Howard on BBC Two just now, who raised millions of pounds for charity through the Great Manchester Run despite being born with her heart back to front.

She tragically died in October 2015 aged 20, and David Beckham sent in some words in her memory.

"My heart and love go to Kirsty for letting me be a small part of your world."
