Great Manchester Run Elite Wheelchair race gets underway
Yesterday more than a thousand young runners took part in the Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run around the Etihad Campus.
Here are a few pictures which will be sure to make you smile this Sunday morning.
Here's the weather forecast for today. A lovely day for running a 10K to come it seems.
Starts at 10:55
As well as thousands just like you and me who are out for their own reasons there are some high-class athletes on show in Manchester today.
The Elite wheelchair race is about to get under way.
Last year's runner-up Simon Lawson leads the field in the wheelchair race, and he's a hot favourite, with his 10k personal best of 20m 25s - over four minutes faster than that of his closest rivals.
Leeds City AC duo Brett Crossley and Callum Hall don't just share a club, but also a PB time of 24m 44s.
Shelly Woods won wheelchair marathon gold at the London Paralympics, and she'll be looking to defend her Great Manchester Run title here today as well.
Full of optimism at the start on Portland Street, still going strong past Old Trafford after four kilometres, legs feeling heavy passing Corrie after 6K and feeling proud on the straight finish on Deansgate.
Here's your Great Manchester Run route.

Is there a better way to celebrate your birthday?
Happy birthday Gareth, and good luck!
Just to explain today's Great Manchester Run schedule (see below), the masses are split into five different waves - orange, white, blue, green and pink.
Each wave starts at a different time but follows the same route around the 10 kilometres.
You can tell which wave a runner is in by the colour on their race number.

On my tram to BBC HQ this morning I saw a few interesting examples of fancy dress, who (I hope) are taking part in the Great Manchester Run.
The costumes are one of the things that make today so special.
If you're in fancy dress send us a picture, we'd love to see them.
