    Women's 1500m final

Laura Muir is one of two Brits in the final with Laura Weightman. Muir finished second in a strong semi-final and said afterwards she had refused to panic. The double European indoor champion is attempting to win a first global medal having finished in seventh in the Olympic 1500m final last summer.

Rio champion and world silver medallist, Kenyan FaithKipyegon, won that semi-final and was fastest in qualifying with 4:03.54 minutes. Sifan Hassan, of the Netherlands, won her semi in 4:03.77 and the reigning world indoor champion remains undefeated in 2017 in the 1500m. Caster Semenya who despite a lack of races over 1500m in 2017 was fourth fastest in the semi-finals, and reigning world champion Genzebe Dibaba are all threats.

You can't block things out and do your own thing in the 1500m. It's the one race that is so tactical and you have to be ready. That's why we love it because it's four minutes of madness.

  15. Going for the winpublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 7 August 2017

    Women's 1500m final

Kenya's Faith Kipyegon won Olympic gold in the women's 1500m final in Rio last year, where Laura Muir went all out for gold.

Many onlookers were of the opinion that she would have brought home a silver or bronze if she hadn't made a break for it - but that was her tactical move. I had a lot of time for it.

"I went for the win," said Muir at the time. "It's not every day you find yourself in an Olympic final. I was in great shape but the last 150 metres was not quite in me.

"I gave everything and I'm proud of how I ran."

Will she go all out again tonight?

    Omar McLeod

What a run by Omar McLeod. He arrived here as a favourite, but when you've got 10 3ft 6in barriers then what pressure. McLeod used his leg speed so well.

Aries Merritt had to come through that transplant and missed so much training.

    McLeod wins the 110m hurdles

    Darren Campbell
Former British sprinter on BBC Radio 5 live

One of the problems in the past was the Jamaicans would go to college in America, end up making a home there and then run for the country where they are living. But now because there is a pathway for the Jamaicans to stay in Jamaica, train in Jamaica, inspire the next batch of kids, it's proved so important. Track & field has probably become the most powerful sport there.
