We posted this vid earlier on the live text, but newsreader Sophie Raworth has just finished in a fantastic time of 1:39:59.

Not quite a half-marathon personal best, but a best at the Great North Run by five minutes so a brilliant effort.

Here she is with the Red Arrows earlier this week...

Keaton's just finished in a highly respectable 1:38:34. Great work!

Glaswegian Alan Wyllie is a stalwart of the Great North Run. The 59-year-old is running his 30th edition this year, taking the chance to catch up with all the friends he's met in his three decades of pilgrimage to this event.

“You meet complete strangers," he says. "Before the start of the run you start striking up conversations with each other. You meet a new bunch of friends and we come back from Ireland, England and Scotland."

He says he'll be sad not to run any more but will be back to cheer on the others.

"We'll go out with a bang. One of my friends Ian Mitchell has done all 36 Great North Runs and he'll be with me over the weekend. He plans to get to 40 so I'll come down and see him finish it."

“It is one of my favourite runs - the bands and the music, and people cheering you around - it’s a great event.

"My wife has done two GNRs and she's not even a runner! It inspires people. It's very humbling.”

Mo Farah, speaking to BBC One: "That was really tough. I'm sore everywhere. I've never been this sore. I think it's down to a lack of training!

"It was telling. With four miles to go, I was hanging on and gritting my teeth. I was thinking if I can just sit on him, then at the end, I can sprint. It's nice to win my fourth time here. You get great support and I'm really enjoying myself.

"It's a relief. I'm pleased with how this season's gone. Looking back on it, it's been amazing. I was so jealous yesterday, watching the City Games, and they were all saying what treats they were having. I'm looking forward to sticky toffee pudding!"
