  1. Proctor clocks 6.54mpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Women's long jump qualification

Shara Proctor is the last Briton to jump and the last in her pool.

It's a bit... awkward as she takes into the air, legs akimbo, but a solid 6.54m takes her to sixth overall.

  2. Irozuru leaps 6.66mpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Women's long jump qualification

Brit Abigail Irozuru is last to go in Pool B - and that's a solid first round jump!

She leaps 6.66m, just short of the qualifying cut off, and she nudges ahead of Jazmin Sawyers.

  3. Sawyers jumps 6.45mpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Women's long jump qualification

Laser focus for Jazmin Sawyers as she runs in, knees pumping, and she comes perilously close to fouling...

The white flag goes up, though, and that's a 6.45m for Sawyers first up, taking her to fourth in the pool.

    Women's long jump qualification

A shake of the head from defending champ Brittney Reese as she jumps just short of the qualifying cut off. She was way behind the board for that one, and heads over for a chat with her coach.

Here's Jazmin Sawyers, the first of three Brits in the qualies...

And in the other pool, Germany's Malaika Mihambo promptly runs up, jumps 6.98m on her first go, and says thank you very much.

She was 23cm behind the board and she's almost jumped seven metres! Amazing.

    Women's long jump qualification

    My word.

Ese Brume of Nigeria, one of three women to clear seven metres this year, absolutely nails her first jump. She reaches 6.89m, easily over the qualifying cut off, and that's her work done for the day.

Seven-time world champion Brittney Reese is also in Group A.

She's one of three women to clear the seven-metre mark in 2019 and she arrives here having claimed gold at four of the last five World Champs.

The defending champ says she was inspired by her son Alex, who she adopted shortly before the Rio Olympics, to carry on competing and push for Olympic gold in Tokyo.

One more heat to go and this one features Dutch former heptathlete Nadine Visser in lane five.

She won 60m hurdles gold at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow earlier this year.

But look out for Jamaica's Janeek Brown on her inside. She's the second quickest in the world this year.

Women's long jump qualification (15:50 BST)

The women's long jump qualification gets underway shortly, with three Brits bidding to reach tomorrow's final.

Shara Proctor is last to go in Group A - she was a silver medallist in Beijing four years ago, when she cleared 7.07m.

Jazmin Sawyers and Abigail Irozuru are in Group B. Sawyers, a Commonwealth and European silver medallist, was third in British Athletics trials and missed out on selection, but she's competing through an IAAF invite.

Irozuru is making her outdoor major championship debut after finishing seventh at the indoors in Glasgow back in March.

Harrison very quickly out of the blocks and she's smoothly over the jumps.

Easy peasy. 12.55 and she cruises into the semis but she will go quicker than that.

Germany's Cindy Roleder in the outside lane second, Belarus' Elvira Herman third and Finland's Reetta Hurske fourth.

World record holder Kendra Harrison is up in this next heat. She set a record of 12.20 in London two years ago but then finished fourth in the final.

She'll have a medal in her sights this time around.

    Women's 100m hurdles heats

No false start in this heat. Danielle Williams flies away from the rest of the field almost as soon as she leaves the blocks.

Nobody can keep up with her as she sails towards the line. She crosses in 12.51.

Andrea Carolina Vargas is second in a new national record for Costa Rica. Finland's Annimari Korte and Hungary's Luca Kozak also through.

Cindy Ofili speaking to BBC Sport after reaching the semi-finals: "It was clean, there were definitely a few mistakes, the start set me back and I didn't get out as I wanted.

"Everything is good, I hurt my shoulder indoors and I'm keeping it taped. I haven't been in a championships in nearly three years. It's been a while but I'm super-excited to be here.

"[I just need to] fix my start. That was my only problem but I will have that right for the semi."
