The mascot for these championships is Scottee, the Scottish Terrier.
A couple of merchandise stalls I walked past on my way to the press seats had already sold out of Scottee toys. He's proving a very popular pup already.
Rumour is the athlete he is most looking forward to seeing in action tonight is GB's Abigail PAW-lett.
Time to grab my coat, already.
Pawlett, incidentally, will resume her pentathlon this evening after the 21-year-old placed ninth after three events this morning on her major championship debut.
Right, time for a bit of athletics I think.
The first heat in the women's 1500m is about to begin.
Freweyni Hailu is the one to watch having claimed 800m world indoor silver two years ago and come fourth over 1500m at the Tokyo Olympics. She’s unbeaten this year and ran 3:55.28 in Poland to go third on the world all-time list.
Revee Walcott-Nolan of Great Britain is also in this heat.
Noah Lyles - a man almost as fast as he is confident.
This was his outfit when he arrived at the stadium this evening.
Men's 60m semi-finals
Colin Jackson
Two-time world 110m hurdles champion on BBC TV
Out of the blocks is part of the race which Noah Lyles has been working on, he has been using the indoor season so well.
He has got his personal best and come here ranked number one - obviously things have gone really well.
His arm drive has been much more positive this year and that has certainly helped him out of the blocks - he is full of confidence.
'When the crowd's excited, I'm excited' - Lyles wins 60m heat
Men's 60m semi-final
American Noah Lyles speaking to BBC Sport after progressing to the semi-final: "The plan is to increase the beginning for the first 20 metres and have fun!
"I am coming into this World Championships with a better rank than I did at Budapest in the 100 metres.
The men's 60m semi-finals will take centre-stage at 19:45 GMT tonight.
Lyles added: "I am going to go home and let the masseuse do his job and not think about it – I’ll come back like it is a new race.
"I am excited for tonight when everyone starts to get in here. When the crowd is excited, I am excited."
Women's shot put
This might be the first evening session of the championships, but we have already had a gold medal won.
Canada's Sarah Mitton won the women's shot put, with a throw of 20.22 metres - just three centimetres further than Yemisi Ogunleye of Germany.
USA's Chase Jackson, who defeated Mitton at the World Championships in Budapest last August, took bronze.
“It feels amazing to win my first global title,” said 27-year-old Mitton, who won Commonwealth gold at Birmingham 2022. “I’m really excited by the distances all the women are throwing. It always comes down to small margins.
“Scotland’s definitely my new favourite place outside of Nova Scotia. I’ll be coming back.”
All the big beasts and British hopes came through the first session of the weekend unscathed.
Triple world champion and irrepressible showman Noah Lyles sailed through his 60m heat in 6.57 seconds, with fellow American and great rival Christian Coleman also through. The semis are at 19:45, with the men's 60m final tonight's showpiece event at 21:45.
Netherlands' Femke Bol, the indoor world record holder in the women's 400m, came through her heat as did GB's Laviai Nielsen. They both go in the semi-finals tonight from 20:50.
Karsten Warholm showed no sign of rustiness in his first run of 2024 as the Norwegian won his 400m heat. The semi-finals are tonight from 21:10.
One of the biggest British medal hopes is Jemma Reekie in the 800m. After winning the British indoor title in a championship record time, North Ayrshire-born Reekie won her heat here. The semis are tomorrow morning.
Belgium's Noor Vidts (pictured), who is aiming retain her World Indoor title in the women's pentathlon, is in second place with the long jump and 800m to come. She trails Saga Vanninen of Finland by 38 points.
Gold medals will be decided in the men's 60m and shot put, as well as in the women's high jump and pentathlon.
There is British interest in three of these events - Morgan Lake is a medal contender in the women's high jump, while Scott Lincoln has reached the final of the men's shot put.
Abigail Pawlett is currently ninth overall in the pentathlon.

It has been almost 10 years since Glasgow hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games, when star names including Usain Bolt, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and David Rudisha graced the temporary track at Hampden Park.
During Thursday’s news conferences, world 1500m champion Josh Kerr – the Scot among GB’s main medal hopes here – said he hopes the staging of the World Indoor Championships a decade on can prove to be his nation’s London 2012, an occasion future athletes refer to as the moment that inspired them.
The buzz around the city has been building over recent days. Add in to the mix that we are now just five months away from the start of the athletics programme at the Paris Olympics, and we can surely expect big performances as the athletes are backed by what is expected to be a brilliant atmosphere inside Emirates Arena.
The stage is set. Olympic year is well and truly here. Who will make a statement in Glasgow?
