    Smith beats Williams

    Here's Liam Smith on his victory: "It was a good fight. I started well the first two rounds, then I think Liam (Williams) won the next three."

    "I started adjusting to what he was doing," he told BT Sport. "I knew I was getting to him. I think it was a good decision from Gary Lockett because I would have stopped him in the next round 100%.

    "I apologise for not making the weight, there's no one more gutted than me sitting here now. It just wouldn't come out of me."

    Smith gets caught but he unloads on Williams. This is a different Smith to the earlier rounds.

    He's after a big round to get him back in this fight as Williams seems to be tiring and that jab is slowing down.

    The Welshman has never gone a full 12 before. That could tell today.

    It's been a busy night for the cutman. Liam Smith's right eye wound keeps opening with every shot Williams lands. 

    The doctor is called to take a look as the rounds go by. 

    If this does go the full 12, one thing for sure is Liam Smith will feel sore tomorrow but can he turn this around to ease the pain?

    "Can you see out of that eye when it's bleeding," he asks Smith.

    Williams just looks fitter and faster.

    Liam Smith wants this fight at close quarters and strikes Williams with a left hook to the body.

    A right hand follows and Smith is on the attack.

    Blood trickles down Smith's face, looks like there are two cuts around that right eye now.

    The doctor is being consulted, but he gets the all clear.

    Smith has to go for this now, will his eye last the 12?

    Liam Smith tries to get on the inside, but his reward is a Williams' uppercut.

    The Liverpudlian continues his tactic, getting in a few body shots from close range, while Williams responds with more uppercuts.

    The pair trade blows as the bell rings. Not love lost in that round.
