Maryan Salazar is from Aguascalientes in Mexico and has lost just once in six bouts.
The choice of a Mexican opponent is deliberate from Adams' team - two of the current world champions in the flyweight division hail from South American nation and Adams has made no secret of the fact she is already eyeing up a world title in the professional ranks.

Despite Adams' stellar amateur record, she is still a newcomer to the professional game. Her opponent has gone the distance in each of her six outings - meaning she has fought eight times as many rounds as the home fighter.

After securing longer rounds, the flyweight says her next mission is to lobby for changes in glove sizes.
Current rules are that all female boxers must wear 10oz gloves, whereas it's 8oz for the men who fight in weight classes up to welterweight.

Nicola Adams' bout this evening will be over four three-minute rounds, rather than the two minute rounds which have become the norm for women's boxing.
Her request to extend the length of rounds was granted by the British Boxing Board of Control.
After winning her first professional fight, Adams said the shorter rounds limited her from finding her rhythm.

Gavin, 31, has drawn criticism after failing to make weight for a second consecutive time.
He won on the referee's card with a score of 78-75 but never looked like stopping the Frenchman.
Gavin, once one of Great Britain's best amateurs and tipped for future stardom, has struggled in the professional ranks.
Since turning pro in 2009, and then racing to 19 consecutive wins, he lost three out of seven of his fights before tonight. That included a sixth round stoppage against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

In Birmingham, Olympian Josh Kelly looked clinical in a fourth-round stoppage over Spain's Jony Vina.
Kelly, 23, represented Great Britain in Rio last year and has now won both his two professional fights.
After dropping his opponent with a right hand, the Sunderland welterweight then produced a flurry of shots, leaving the referee with no choice but to halt proceedings.
