  1. Round 1published at 23:19 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    Frampton v Donaire

Frampton throws an early jab before Donaire comes back with a left-right combo.

Donaire connects with a left to the body. Frampton happy to keep his left arm low and counter-punch. No real significance to these early punches.

'The Jackal' jabs and weaves away from a couple of attacks.

Confident start from both fighters but no major blows.

The judges are introduced. It's nearly fight time.

The WBO interim featherweight title on the line but so much more for Carl Frampton - a path back to the top level and another world title shot.

Defeat could well end that dream of a Windsor Park bout.

Nonito Donaire has been telling us stories this week about how he wet himself on the way to the ring in his first fight as an 11-year-old, so scared was he. But once the bell went, survival instincts kicked in.

    Frampton v Donaire

'The Filipino Flash' Nonito Donaire is starting his walk to the ring.

A former four-weight world champion. A huge pedigree in the lighter weight categories. His best days behind him? Or can he win this and set up a shot at a fifth world title?

The odd boo in Belfast, but Donaire salutes the crowd as he enters the ring.

Carl Frampton needs to fight his fight tonight and not the fight the crowd necessarily want him to fight.

It could be a fight of two great thinkers.

Right, the noise is starting to build in the SSE Arena in Belfast.

Here comes the rendition of 'Sweet Caroline'...

  12. Tete wins...published at 22:59 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    Frampton v Donaire

Sure enough, Zolani Tete retains his WBO bantamweight title with a unanimous points decision - 120-108 on all three cards.

A dreadful showing, especially from 42-year-old Argentinian Omar Andres Narvaez, who was the mandatory challenger but barely wanted to box.

Tete also was not able to blitz through it - certainly no repeat of the fireworks of the South African's world record 11-second title defence in Belfast last November.

    Frampton v Donaire

Finally! The bell rings for the end of round 12 between Zolani Tete and Omar Andres Narvaez.

Barely any reaction from the SSE Arena crowd in Belfast, bar a few boos to mark a woeful bout.

Tete will surely be awarded all 12 rounds, with Narvaez barely interested in throwing a punch.

  14. Frampton focused despite legal issuespublished at 22:53 British Summer Time 21 April 2018

    Frampton v Donaire

Carl Frampton says he is "ready" for his WBO interim featherweight title fight with Nonito Donaire despite his legal disputes with former manager Barry McGuigan.

'The Jackal' split with McGuigan's Cyclone Promotions in August, ending his association with trainer Shane McGuigan.

This will be his second fight with Jamie Moore in his corner.

"Going into this fight, there are no doubts. I've had the best training camp I've ever had," said Frampton.

"I'll do whatever it takes to win and, potentially, I believe you are going to see the best performance of my career in this fight."

As chief support bouts go, this fight between Zolani Tete and Omar Andres Narvaez has been right down there. The Belfast spectators have been chatting among themselves, scarcely looking at the ring, for most of the contest. Mercifully, there is only one round left. Survival has been the name of the game for the Argentinian and it looks as though he is going to comfortably achieve his mission.

2012 Olympic medallist Michael Conlan has a huge amount of respect for former four-weight world champion Nonito Donaire but expects Carl Frampton to triumph in tonight's main event at Belfast's SSE Arena.

"Carl will win either by a late stoppage or wide points margin," Conlan tells BBC Radio Ulster.

"Carl is a more natural featherweight than Nonito who is moving up from lighter weights. I think that will have an effect as the fight goes on."

The big screen in Belfast's SSE Arena has just flashed up a few seconds of Frampton on the pads with his trainer Jamie Moore in his dressing-room. The action actually looks a bit more vigorous than Tete's contest with Narvaez.
