Josh Warrington is pinching himself at how things have played out. He's wanted a piece of Lee Selby for some time and through sublime timing, he gets his shot at this stadium venue - a stadium he frequents as a football fan no less.

This week he told Selby to enjoy taking pictures with his belt, adding: "It's staying here pal".

"Over the years he has said I won't get to his level and I'm an average fighter," said Warrington. "It will be embarrassing for him to lose his title to an average fighter, won't it?

"I feel this is meant to be. I talk a lot about destiny. A few years ago I was meant to fight for a world title and it didn't come off.

"I've always said I'd love to fight for a world title at Elland Road, I always said I'd have (former Leeds United captain) Lucas Radebe there and now Kaiser Chiefs play too.

"It's all fallen into place. All I have to do now is get in the ring and do the business and Leeds will have its first world champion."

There are going to be times where Josh Warrington finds Lee Selby difficult to pin down. If Lee Selby, particularly early on, can quieten the crowd, that could be significant. It could have a significant impact on the result.

Josh has to be the best he has been, maybe turning to the crowd later in the fight for that extra push.

He has to hope Selby leaves a bit in the gym. Selby is convinced he can knockout or stop Warrington. I'm not sure it will happen. I see it going long and I just see a bit of heartbreak going down the stretch.

Lee Selby's trainer Tony Borg (pictured far left) has opened up about his charge getting nervous before fights and celebrating with non-alcoholic treats.

Borg, who runs St Joseph's Gym in Newport said: “When Lee’s dad brought him to me, to look after him as a pro 10 years ago, he was already possibly the best technical boxer at the gym. But he was a long way from the fittest.

"Lee came from an area where kids hung around doing nothing, drinking lager. He told me he didn’t do circuits. He just wanted to punch the bag, spar his brother Andrew then go home. No hard graft.

"Now he can’t wait to get to the gym. He loves his training. It’s a fact that he’s not drunk alcohol since he had a bottle of lager to celebrate defending his Commonwealth title against an African in Newport six years ago. Now he celebrates his title wins eating cheesecake!

"In the changing room for an hour before he fights, he becomes very ‘edgy’, a bag of nerves, constantly repeating himself, doubting himself. Then when the call comes to fight, when the lights go on and the music starts, he completely changes. Suddenly, he’s in the ‘zone’, buzzing with confidence, a true gladiator. He just looks cocky.

"But if Josh Warrington’s team think he can’t dig deep and hasn’t got gears, they’ll be painfully mistaken. We’ll make him miss, make him pay…..painfully.”

If you get one stadium fight every three years you remember it. Now we walk through stadium gates for the fifth time in a little over a year. These are unprecedented days. Let's get that firmly established.

Neither man knows what it is like to walk out in front of maybe 30,000 people or so. Anthony Joshua has told us it 'takes your breath away'. All those people holding up their phones, its like you're walking out into the Milky Way. Who knows what happens to a man who has never seen that before.

Josh Warrington told Lee Selby he would not be able to remain calm in the chaotic atmosphere of stadium fight night.

The Leeds fighter is expected to have virtually all of the support at Elland Road, while Selby boxes outside of his native Wales for the eighth fight in a row.

"It's only four hours up the road from my home so it's not so much of a lions' den to me," said Selby, 31.

"The title is world champion. I should be ready to defend my title anywhere in the world. The support is irrelevant, it's just another defence to me, another fight."

Lee Selby lost his fifth professional fight, back in May 2009, but he has not lost since, with 26 wins from his 27-fight professional career.

The Welshman picked up the IBF world featherweight title in May, 2015 with an eighth-round win over Evgeny Gradovich and then regained his belt with wins over Fernando Montiel, Eric Hunter, Jonathan Victor Barros and Eduardo Ramirez.

Despite this potentially being his fifth world title defence, the man from Barry, Wales, is on away territory tonight.

Been chatting with a few locals and the talk is that the pubs, restaurants, takeaways and well everything surrounding Elland Road, is packed to the rafters at the moment.

Sure, ideally we would love a big crowd for the whole show, but seems clear several thousands fans here are only here for the main event.

Want proof? It's nearly 9.30pm and only now have we had our first rendition of 'marching all together.'

Nest: Warrington is out of his depth and will be schooled. Easy points win or late stoppage for Selby.

MD03: Lots of noise coming from Warrington which tells us he's nervous. He should be. Getting 'schooled' in front of his own people will be a chastening experience. Selby wins this sometime between R9 - R11.

Social media was full of conflicting reports after Friday's weigh-in with claims that Warrington fans "assaulted," Lee Selby's team.

BBC Sport asked Tony Borg, Selby's trainer, for the full story. Here was his account.

"It was just idiots, we weren't assaulted. They are going to need to do a lot more than that to rattle us, it was just grown men acting like little kids."

    So there you have it.

  14. Both men beat the scales...published at 21:14 British Summer Time 19 May 2018

    Both fighters made the 126lb limit, with Selby recording 125.75lb (8st 13lb 12oz) on the scales and Warrington 124.9lb (8st 12lbs 14oz).

Making weight is one thing, how you do it is quite another. You don't want to be too dehydrated, you can't let the weight cut drain you of energy. So who do you think looked the best on the scales?

Jack Catterall speaking on BT Sport: "I feel good, it has been a frustrating couple of weeks with the changes of opponents but I stayed professional.

"I wanted the fight to go on a bit longer but it is what it is.

"I want to be in the big fights, I will be ringside for Terry Flanagan’s fight and I am getting ready to fight for a world title."

WBO world super-lightweight champion Flanagan takes on American Maurice Hooker in Manchester on 9 June, with Catterall now the WBO inter-continental champion.

The fight before the Selby v Warrington one has proved to be a massive disappointment.

Jack Catterall is now the WBO inter-continental super lightweight champion.

His opponent Christopher Sebire of France gets floored in the first minute and then suffers what looks to be a dislocated shoulder. He is pulled out at the one minute 47 seconds mark with Sebire presumably on his way to hospital.

IBF world featherweight champion Lee Selby arrived at Elland Road a short while ago. He has a full grey tracksuit on and put the hood up as he exited the car.

Boos rang loudly but he seemed to have one loyal fan close to him who shouted "come on Selby" repeatedly and then screamed a few expletives about Leeds.

    A one-man army.
