Carl Frampton stopped Australian Luke Jackson in the ninth round of their featherweight contest at Windsor Park in Belfast on Saturday night.

Frampton, 31, dominated throughout and Jackson's corner threw the towel in as the home fighter teed off on the previously unbeaten Australian.

The Northern Irishman dropped his opponent a round earlier with an explosive body shot.

Frampton's next bout is likely to be for a world title later this year, with promoter Frank Warren confirming Frampton will fight IBF champion Josh Warrington.

Tyson Fury vowed to knock out WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder as their bout was confirmed in the aftermath of the English fighter's dominant win over Francesco Pianeta.

The pair exchanged words as Fury's promoter Frank Warren said the bout was "official" and added more details would be made public in the next week.

Wilder said Fury would "experience" being knocked out for the first time.

Fury, 30, won all 10 rounds to secure a points win over Pianeta in Belfast.

"One thing I promise when I go to Las Vegas is I am knocking you out," he told Wilder, 32.

The American, who was holding his belt as the pair took turns on the microphone at Windsor Park, responded: "He has never had the WBC belt. If he even thinks about that belt, he better wake up and apologise to me as he will never have this."

Paddy Barnes failed in his bid to win the WBC world flyweight title as he was stopped in the fourth round by champion Cristofer Rosales at Windsor Park.

Barnes was unable to recover from a brutal body shot from the Nicaraguan.

The pair had slugged out the previous three rounds in the middle of the ring, with both fighters backing themselves going toe-to-toe.

Rosales has won 19 of his 28 fights by knockout while Barnes suffers a first loss in six professional fights.

Not the most perfect performance. There were moments of Jackson success as Frampton has some marks on him. In the end, his extra size and class proved the difference. He probably felt Jackson's power and knew he couldn't be hurt.

In the end he subdues Luke Jackson and breaks the resistance of a man many said would be gone long before halfway. Now it's all on course for Josh Warrington and a challenge for the IBF world featherweight title.

Another attack from Carl Frampton rocks Luke Jackson once more. Jackson just stops, taking a lot of punishment, and that is the signal for the towel to come in from his corner.
