Among all this carnage, let's not forget that Carl Frampton is still to fight in what is supposed to be the main event. Seems like it has been overshadowed a bit now.

Wonder what is going through Frampton's mind? He has always wanted to headline at Windsor Park, he is certainly having to share the spotlight at best in Belfast tonight.

  2. 'You will never have this belt'published at 22:18 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

Deontay Wilder tells BT Sport: "He has never had the WBC belt. If he ever thinks about that belt he better wake up and apologise to me as he will never have this.

"I cant wait to fight you as I promise you I will knock you out. You have never been knocked out but you will feel the experience of what it's like to be hit by the Bronze Bomber.

  3. 'They called, I answered'published at 22:16 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

Tyson Fury says: "We have two men who will fight anyone. This man has been trying to make a fight with another chump (talking about Anthony Joshua).

"They called, I answered. I said send me the contact, they sent it, I said yes. Now he gets his chance to fight the lineal heavyweight champion of the world. I got the rounds there tonight

"One thing I promise when I got to Las Vegas is I am knocking you (said while walking towards Wilder)."

So, Wilder v Fury in Las Vegas it is then. We don't know when, as Frank Warren was being a bit coy about it, but let's get excited, that is a huge night / early morning of boxing.

    Can't wait, already.

"One thing that is certain, when we do fight in Las Vegas, I'm knocking you out," says Tyson Fury. He also said a few other words we can't tell you what they were, but you can probably guess.

Wilder in the ring. This could get lively.

  8. Postpublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

Deontay Wilder will be thinking this could well be an easy, and very big pay day.

Wilder gives Fury his WBC belt and Fury parades it around the ring before handing it back to its rightful owner. For now, at least.

  9. 'A good, solid professional performance'published at 22:04 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

    Andy Lee
Former middleweight world champion at Windsor Park

I don't think the boos will bother Tyson at all. He seemed intent to do 10 rounds. There were times when he took a step back and let Pianeta get through the rounds. A good, solid, professional performance. He needs rounds, that's how you sharpen the instincts. Sparring is one thing but fighting is another.

No surprise, Tyson Fury wins every single round. 100-90.

Job done for Tyson Fury, in a very underwhelming contest. Francesco Pianeta offered nothing and there are some boos from a soaking wet Belfast crowd. Still, we go to the judges scorecards for all the formalities.

Dave Baker‏: Not exactly enthralling by any means, but #fury, external will make an awkward match up for #wilder, external when it comes round. You won't find me paying for it on the basis of this mind.

    Round 10

Three minutes left. Is Fury ready for Deontay Wilder? That is the big question. If the American is next then that is going to be a huge, huge, huge jump up in class.

Round 9: Tyson Fury v Francesco Pianeta

One, two, three, four unanswered punches from Fury and then another left from Fury get a murmur of excitement from the Belfast crowd. Three minutes to go. This will be one of the biggest upsets in boxing, ever, if Fury loses this one. Only a knockout will do for the Italian-born Pianeta.

Round 9: Tyson Fury v Francesco Pianeta

Pianeta is still there, so deserves some credit, but he has just been completely outclassed. His hopes of him getting back to world title challenger level are never going to happen. Just not good enough.

Round 9: Tyson Fury v Francesco Pianeta

The only question is surely can Tyson Fury finish this inside the distance? Six minutes left to find out.

Round 8: Tyson Fury v Francesco Pianeta

Eight very impressive, if not exhilarating, rounds from Tyson Fury, who even has the opportunity to switch to southpaw.

Eight gone, eight rounds for Fury. The crowd, soaking wet in the Belfast rain, are just waiting for the main event now.

Round 8: Tyson Fury v Francesco Pianeta

Three to go. Pianeta calls Fury on to him and tries a last-ditch attempt to do something, leaping and lunging with a swinging right. It misses by miles.

I know Tyson wants the rounds maybe but we want to see the finish. Pianeta is ready to go.

Remember, this is only a 10-rounder, which is probably a good thing for all concerned.
