Isufi is putting a great performance, not in boxing but in acting. He looks disheartened, he looks uninterested. As soon as Billy Joe come close to him he then looks to land one big punch. Billy Joe is wise to that and not letting Isufi get the better of him.

  2. Round ninepublished at 23:07 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Steam coming off the bodies of each man under the Stevenage night air.

Isufi swings with the right and Saunders, rapid, gets the left hand up to block the side of his head.

A quiet round, Saunders tricky, arms down by his thighs, he takes a right hand for being over confident.

Another left hook gets through as Saunders gets on the move.

Now Saunders responds, springing forward with a two-shot combination.

Strange round. Saunders being made to pay on times but really, he's in third gear now and it's almost like he needs someone to push him harder.

Isufi looks like he's about to go any moment. Billy Joe needs to get his foot on the pedal but he also needs to be careful of his opponent landing another big punch.

Saunders is reading more and more as to what Isufi is about to do and that is proving demoralising for his opponent.

He has outclassed him in this fight, but so far hasn't out powered him.

  6. Round eightpublished at 23:03 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Jab, jab, right hand from Shefat Isufi and they all get fresh air as Billy Joe Saunders moves back slickly.

A left hook to the body, under the elbow of Isufi, is nice work for Saunders.

Two minutes of this eighth round remain, the crowd are a little quiet, the photographers primed on the ring apron. Promoter Frank Warren in the front row sits motionless as he looks up at the ring.

A minute to go, right hand, left uppercut from Saunders, they graze the guard. Just 30 seconds to go, six, seven, eight jabs flicked in Isufi's direction, no damage done.

    Ding, ding, ding....

A very interesting round. Saunders starting very tentatively, towards the end of the round he started to dominate. He's back in control now, it will be interesting to see his approach in the next round.

  8. Round sevenpublished at 22:59 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

To close out the seventh, two jabs with the right hand from Billy Joe open up enough space to send that left hand through into the side of Isufi's face.

    Things appear back under control.

The accuracy is starting to return to Sanders game here. He has composed himself well and is beginning to regain his confidence.

  10. Round sevenpublished at 22:58 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

    Right then.

    What next?

Shefat Isufi just woke Stevenage up with those right hands.

The opening minute of the seventh brings little, Saunders still sways from his hips to offer us a glimpse into his head - 'I'm comfortable, I'm in charge'.

Straight left with the back hand from Saunders just gets through the guard.

    A minute left...

Isufi has let a golden opportunity slip here, he had Billy Joe on the ropes and at his mercy. He will regret this at the end because Billy Joe seems to have regained his senses now.

  12. Round sixpublished at 22:55 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

    My oh my.

They came out to start the sixth and two big, swinging right hands got home from the underdog. Saunders flew back into the ropes and briefly put his arms on top of the ropes like he'd been pressed against them.

He had to get a hold of Isufi briefly and wow, what a turnaround.

Some 40 seconds to come, Saunders not throwing, this round is one to just get behind him.

He begins to look more steady on his feet but suddenly we have that element of jeopardy that this sport so often delivers.

Suddenly a shock result is in prospect here, and Isufi is going after his man. But Isufi is so tired himself, Saunders needs to compose himself here.

  14. Round sixpublished at 22:53 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Billy Joe Saunders spits into his bucket and I can tell you Josh Taylor has won his world title. More on that by clicking here.

They come out for the sixth and what's this? BILLY JOE SAUNDERS STAGGERED!!

Another dominating round for Saunders, but Isufi all the while looking gamely and hoping to hit a punch of his own.

Saunders knows he's way, way above his opponent now in terms of class.

  16. Round five...published at 22:51 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

A towel is draped over Saunders' head in the corner, the bottle placed in his mouth and here he comes again for the fifth.

The British fighter evades two swings. They meet in the middle of the ring and right hook from up close gets home for Saunders.

His shoulders still sway, there's a real swagger here. Now he ducks to waist height to evade shots, it's showboating.

Not as much punch volume from the home fighter despite his strut.

A minute to go in the fifth...jab, uppercut, left hook from Billy Joe.

Now he drives one to the body, Isufi is backed to the ropes. Those body shots do the business don't they.

Some 10 seconds left, Saunders paced this round nicely and stepped it up late on to underline his dominance.

A good round for Billy but guilty of looking for that finishing punch. He needs to get back to his boxing without looking for that hurtful punch, just let it come.

  18. Round fourpublished at 22:47 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Billy Joe Saunders dancing on his toes. He's so comfortable right now.

A minute of the fourth gone and he sends his man back to his corner, pinging two shots in which get blocked.

All the punches are coming out here. Hooks, good jabs, body work. You feel he can go through the gears too but maybe these rounds are a good thing given his recent 18 months.

Some 30 seconds remain of the fourth, Isufi has not landed a thing really and without landing anything stinging, Saunders won that round by just showing general craft and skill.

He's 4-0 up on rounds and in truth and if this goes the distance, he'll want a shutout.

Isufi isn't showing much here other than terrific resilience.

Another dominant round from Billy Joe. Isufi showed me something there, to come back while Billy Joe is dominating with his own punches shows something about him.

But Billy Joe looks like he's enjoying himself in there.
