  1. Round threepublished at 22:43 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Hats off to Shefat Isufi, he took that onslaught and in the final minute of the third he's looking a bit more solid.

Saunders taunts his man for a wild swing, looking out into the crowd as if to ask where the punch left.

Two uppercuts with the left hand at the bell and the second one drove home. What a way to send someone back to the stool.

Isufi is badly hurt no doubt about it, his legs are threatening to give way here. This is beautiful boxing at times from Billy Joe, who is quite simply a class above his opponent here.

  3. Round three...published at 22:42 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

A reminder Billy Joe Saunders has already won a world title at middleweight and here he could land one at super-middle.

He's a schooled operator and after a minute of the third he lands the first shot in a three-shot combo.

He's got his man in some trouble near the ropes, punches raining in...

A more measured round for Billy there. Isufi's tactics are clear now, he stands back and tries to cover the punches with the hoping of landing one big punch. It's typical German style of boxing.

  5. Round twopublished at 22:39 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Nice distance control from Billy Joe as he slips back to avoid a shot and then goes on the attack, prompting roars in Stevenage.

Double jab, he circles his rival and he's boxing at his pace, with balance, shot selection, the full arsenal.

Saunders is finding Isufi a very easy target to hit at this stage.

  7. Round two...published at 22:38 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

A lovely left uppercut from Billy Joe Saunders starts the second.

A right jab glances Isufi's forehead. Left hook, left uppercut from the Briton. He's at the sweet store right now and he can pick cola bottles, snakes, whatever he likes.

A joyous position. One minute to go.

Perfect round for Billy Joe Saunders there. It's hard to see Isufi even getting a foot in this fight. Billy is in a tough situation because, in respect to Isufi, his opponent isn't in the same class as him. Does he want to get him out there quick or does he want to get the rounds in?

It's turned into a sparring session and we've only done three minutes.

  10. Round onepublished at 22:35 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

A left hand over the top from Billy Joe Saunders as Shefat Isufi is near the ropes.

A very comfortable start from Saunders, he's lively and has thrown 10 punches for anything coming back his way.

His shoulders pivot, a feint or two thrown in, a minute of the first to go.

Five shots go in to head and body, forcing the guard to come up for Isufi. This is easy stuff, he moves left and right, never setting himself to keep Isufi guessing. One-way stuff. Like the cup final (sorry Watford fans).

In the ring over the past decade, Billy Joe has been one of the best. At 29, there should be more to come from this man.

  12. Round onepublished at 22:32 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Billy Joe Saunders starts crouched, his hands down by his hips. It's confident, the southpaw fires a jab with that right hand and it almost gets there. Double jab, slick, both land...

    Saunders v Isufi

"Coming to the ring, the former undefeated world champion from England, Billy Joe Saunders...."

Our ring announcer does the business and Bill Joe enters the stadium to some kind of gritty grime tune.

I am not cool enough to identify it.

He steps up onto the ring apron and punches the air....

  17. Yes Shefat!published at 22:26 British Summer Time 18 May 2019

    Saunders v Isufi

Better stop dreaming of the quiet life, 'cause it's the one we'll never know

And quit running for that runaway bus 'cause those rosy days are few

And stop apologising for the things you've never done

'Cause time is short and life is cruel but it's up to us to change

    This town called malice

I've not lost the plot. This is what the German-based Serbian-born Shefat Isufi has chosen to walk out to.

    Tune.

    Well in.

    Saunders v Isufi

We've just had some Fatboy Slim at the Lamex Stadium and Billy Joe Saunders has just left his dressing room.

He's all in white, Anthony Joshua/Muhammad Ali style.

He shakes his legs out, he's twitching on the spot and then taps both temples with his gloves.

    Here we go.

So a fair few people - including promoter Frank Warren - have said Billy Joe Saunders needs to get some eye-catching headlines after a dire 2018 which saw him embroiled in controversy over a drug test, as well as a "sickening" social media video according to police.

Saunders has vowed to now push on and when former world super-middleweight world champion George Groves spoke to BBC Radio 5 live, he felt Saunders needed to show more application.

"I wasn't sure how Saunders would go as a pro as I think he lacks discipline at times," said Groves.

"At middleweight he's in a tough division and is moving up to a division which is also tough where he will be giving away natural size.

"He will have to keep his hand speed. He's not a huge puncher but if he can let combinations go he can be concussive. But I think he has lost a lot of momentum.

"He had the Lemieux win and it gave momentum but he has kind of dined out on that since. You have to live a clean life. Ballooning up and down in weight will take years of your career, that's a fact."
