It was a very good round from Alexander Povetkin. But if Hughie Fury can get through the next two rounds I think Povetkin will start to fall apart.

I could see Peter Fury swaying from side to see in the corner telling Hughie what he wanted. This fight has been more eventful than most would have predicted.

Not a spare seat at the O2 Arena with the audience captivated by the Hughie Fury v Alexander Povetkin fight after the after-fight carnage of that Charlie Edwards contest.
In that one, there were huge boos every time the late punch from Julio Martinez was shown on the big screens.
“It was so late it was next week,” said promoter Eddie Hearn, before the fight was declared a no-contest. Not only did it cause chaos in the ring but also among the journalists ringside frantically deleting and rewriting their copy.
Much more aggressive now from Povetkin. He gets up close and the movement is not quite so swift now from Fury but he does connect with a decent right hook. Povetkin lands a couple of his own towards the end of the round. All to play for.

Alexander Povetkin is biding his time waiting for Hughie Fury to step off. This is a big round for Povetkin.
Oof. That's a solid left hook from Povetkin which shows he is far from out of the picture just yet. He'll be aware that he needs to make something happen soon as the energy saps.
Fury gets back to bouncing around the ring, controlling the distance but Povetkin manages to land a couple of body blows.

There are already signs Alexander Povetkin is struggling, he’s breathing heavy, he’s missing with shots and that will tire him out.

It's been a patchy round in terms of punches but the cleaner blows have come from Hughie Fury.

Hughie Fury is not afraid to try and throw the right hand and left-hook. Alexander Povetkin knows his way around a ring though.

Alexander Povetkin is trying to close the gap, make it ugly and turn this into a slugfest.
Fury is still bouncing around the ring. He's full of energy as Povetkin keeps trying to get in close. He lands a body shot but leaves himself open to a successful combination from Fury. The British boxer is dictating the pace.

It might be really tiring trying to hold him. I don’t think Alexander Povetkin has got 12 rounds in him.
If we get past four or five rounds I think his energy will drain away.

Hughie Fury let him get in a little bit closer that time. When Alexander Povetkin gets close he needs to tie him up or hold on.

This is a more animated Alexander Povetkin in this second round. Fury was bossing the first round.
Smart tactics from Fury so far, he's moving Povetkin around the ring and keeping his distance. Keep this up and the veteran will start to tire.
However, Povetkin moves in to take back the initiative, landing a body shot as he gets in close. He lands another body shot before the bell goes.

It's a great start from Fury. Hughie's tactics are perfect.

That's the best round I've ever seen from Hughie Fury. I'm not sure Povetkin has got 12 rounds in him.
Povetkin looks dangerous from the outset. Fury, always moving, tries to control him with the jab but Povetkin manages to land a quick one-two. Fury lands a right hook towards the end of the round, which will give him confidence.

This fight in my opinion is a huge risk for Hughie Fury with a high reward. Was there any need to take on a fight like this? In my opinion no.
The first round is under way.
Here we go!
