    Jonas beats Dicaire on points

WBO, WBC and IBF champion Natasha Jonas to BBC 5 Live: "It was very tough, I knew it would be tough.

"I had to perform at my best and beyond to get the result. I had to dig in and be sharp.

"Physically she was very strong but we prepared for that in camp.

"This has by far been my best year in boxing and to think at one stage it was almost over and I nearly walked away from boxing. Now, 12 months on I'm here unified champion with three belts and a Ring belt."

On who she could face next: "I've had a tough year, I'm going to have a holiday and then we'll discuss the best options in 2023.

"I have to win to keep all my options open and alive and I did that tonight."

    Jonas beats Dicaire on points

Natasha Jonas would not be pushed on future fights, though, in her post-bout interview with Sky Sports:

"Right this second I'm going to go away with my little girl, I'm going to have a good holiday, I'm going to watch my stablemate Paul Butler in Japan and hopefully he can bring home that undisputed belt as well.

"Then we'll go into 2023 and see what happens. I haven't had a break since last year so I think I deserve a good break - then we'll come back and discuss my options.

"I've been in that place before when all the doors are open and then they shut so I had to perform tonight.

"Claressa [Shields] vacated the belt, she was number one in the division so she could come back down."

"I knew she was tough, I trained for it to be tough and I've worked with some of the best southpaws in the game."

    100-90, though? Really?

I'm not sure what fight that judge was watching. Marie-Eve Dicaire won at least a couple of rounds, surely.

That was a fantastic round to finish a great fight.

I did feel that Jonas' discipline, technique and shot selection was magnificent tonight.

    Good battle, that.

The early lead that Natasha Jonas established should be enough to win this on the cards.

But Marie-Eve Dicaire certainly came back into it - and never stopped believing. It's closer than it looked halfway through the fight, for sure.

  14. Round 10published at 23:08 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2022

    Jonas v Dicaire

Natasha Jonas has the look of a fighter who knows she can only lose to something sensational.

Marie-Eve Dicaire does her best, unleashing some big shots but hardly any connect.

She will probably get that last round on effort alone - but how many others did she win? We await the judges' scorecards.

    Jonas v Dicaire

Lovely uppercut from Natasha Jonas as the two fighters duel up close.

But, hang on, a huge left hand from Marie-Eve Dicaire that really got the Brit's attention.

She's fortunate that came in the final 10 seconds of the round. Could have been trouble otherwise.

    Hannah Rankin
    Former light-middleweight champion

Tasha is boxing really well, the cleaner shots are coming from her.

Dicaire doesn't know how to lose, she's only really lost to Claressa Shields and she will push right through until the end.

  20. Round 9published at 23:03 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2022

    Jonas v Dicaire

Penultimate round - this is a 10-rounder, remember.

You suspect Marie-Eve Dicaire needs a knockout. Natasha Jonas just needs to keep things sensible.
