    Smith v Benjamin (Round 9)

We are three-quarters of the way through the British light-welterweight title bout between Dalton Smith and Kaisee Benjamin.

It's been a bit scrappier than many thought it would.

The referee has had to step in to speak to both boxers about holding. Four rounds to go and common consensus is that champion Smith is ahead on the cards - but not massively.

We've already had one successful British world title fight this weekend.

Britain's Sunny Edwards out-pointed Felix Alvarado to retain his IBF flyweight title and undefeated record in Sheffield on Friday night.

Edwards, 26, dominated the first half of the fight and dug in brilliantly when Alvarado tried to respond with relentless, if disjointed, pressure.

The three judges scored it 115-113, 115-113, 116-112 in Edwards' favour.

There's been plenty of action at the Manchester Arena already this evening - more on that shortly.

But there's currently a British title bout going on as Sheffield's Dalton Smith defends his light-welterweight Lonsdale belt - and his undefeated record - against Birmingham's Kaisee Benjamin.

It's been nip and tuck five rounds in, although the champion looks to be controlling matters.

  9. Will tonight's bout be as good as these bangers?published at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2022

As mentioned earlier, we've had some cracking women's fights over the past few months.

Chantelle Cameron made history by becoming the undisputed world light-welterweight champion only last weekend.

And a few weeks earlier, Claressa Shields outlasted Savannah Marshall in a classic at the O2 Arena in London.

Reckon tonight's bout between Natasha Jonas and Marie-Eve Dicaire will be as good as those bouts? Not long now to wait to find out...

  10. If at first you don’t succeed...published at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2022

Jonas v Dicaire (22:00 GMT approx)

Natasha Jonas’ success story is one based around persistence.

Having only turned professional in her early 30s, she racked up an impressive winning record before a shock loss to Brazil's Viviane Obenauf.

Jonas rebounded from that blow, only to see her two first world title tilts end in a heartbreaking split decision draw against compatriot Terri Harper and a unanimous points defeat to Ireland’s Katie Taylor.

However, she bounced back once again to become world champion at the age of 37 in February of this year, stopping Uruguay’s Chris Namus in sensational fashion to win the WBO light-middleweight title.

Then in September, she doubled her belt tally by outlasting Sweden’s Patricia Berghult to triumph on the cards of all three judges. The only question remaining is: Will she add a third belt tonight?

  12. Welcome to fight nightpublished at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2022

What a few weeks it has been for women’s boxing.

First, in the middle of October, we had the first all-female boxing card in the UK, topped by the absolute banger between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall at London’s O2 Arena.

Then we had Katie Taylor cementing her legacy by extending her perfect record to 22 wins before, just last weekend, Chantelle Cameron made history by becoming the UK’s first undisputed female champion.

And tonight? We have Liverpool’s own WBO and WBC light-middleweight champion Natasha Jonas bidding to unify three world titles at Manchester Arena as she takes on IBF strap-holder Marie-Eve Dicaire.

    The big fights just keep-a-coming.
