Image source, .Artur Beterbiev came out on top of a firefight with Britain's Anthony Yarde to retain his WBO, WBC and IBF light-heavyweight world titles in London.
Both men fought brilliantly in a back-and-forth epic over eight rounds.
Yarde hurt Beterbiev in an astonishing fifth round, but was then pulled out of the fight in eighth after being knocked down by a powerful right hand.
Russian Beterbiev kept his 100% knockout record, while Yarde's wait for world honours goes on.
Yarde was a huge underdog going into the contest, but will see his stock rise rapidly after an impressive performance many thought beyond him.

Promoter George Warren, speaking to BT Sport: "Gutted for him. He gave one of the best fighters in the world the toughest fight he had. It was like a pendulum fight, it swung like a pendulum, He had to go through some tough moments.
"Yarde tonight against any other light heavyweight wins that fight. He was strong, he showed discipline at times. The whole performance, so close just not quite there."

Beterbiev beats Yarde by knockout

Artur Beterbiev tells BT Sport: "I could say it was a bad fight but I'm sitting here.
"Everyone in this division can punch and Anthony can too.
"He's young and he has time and I hope he does well in the future.
"If I'm honest, I was prepared for all of those punches and that's why I could keep coming back at him.
"I hope one day I will be a good boxer.
"I think it would be pleasant to face [Dmitry] Bivol. It would be a really good fight."

Yarde is straight over to hug his opponent as the two acknowledge a brilliant fight from each other. The crowd are on their feet again after witnessing a fight for the ages. Stunning stuff.

Both exchange some thumping efforts before Yarde is put into the corner again. Beterbiev rattles a few shots to the body before an uppercut by Yarde gets him out of danger and prompts another huge roar from the crowd.
It is another standing ovation after another stunning round. Just when you think one of them might be wobbling they fight back.

Beterbiev also appears to have a little cut under his left eye, showing just how much both are putting into this excellent fight as Yarde gets through with another job.
Both exchange punches in the final few seconds of the round, with Beterbiev saving his best of the round to the last.

No one gave Yarde much of a chance in this but he's more than matched his opponent and lands a really good left hook that has the crowd roaring.
Beterbiev is backed into a corner and Yarde lands a few more hits, but a miss presents an opporutnity for Beterbiev, who cracks off an uppercut before the bell.
