Round 5
This was that cut in round one. Caused by an accidental head clash.
Round 5
Right hand, left hook, both from Wood, both land.
Some superb accuracy and power from the Englishman in that round.
Round 5
Wood lands a crushing right to the left ribs of the Mexican...and Lara's hurt by that. Is this Wood's chance?
Round 5
Both men have landed some huge shots already - and both showed great stamina, strength, desire and a chin to not be floored by the shots.
Those at the Motorpoint Arena are being treated to a thriller.

Fantastic, brilliant fight.

Round 4
A breathless, brilliant 12 minutes of action and Wood lands with a crushing right uppercut.
It's only a third of the way through, but it's in contention for another fight of the year contender for Leigh Wood, after taking that honour in 2022.

Round 4
Into the fourth round, both men exchange jabs, but a brutal right-left combination from Lara in only the opening 30 seconds of the fourth...
Round 3

Former world champion on BBC Radio 5 live
So smart from Leigh Wood he smothered the flames by using his feet in and out.

This is why boxing fans love Leigh Wood. After that second round onslaught from Lara, Wood comes back fighting like his life depends on it. Terrific.
Round 3
A massive right cross from Wood and that's the sort of punch that could swing the momentum. Great shot from the Englishman and this has been just the fight we were expecting - a brilliant one.
Round 3
Two rounds in, Lara has landed 25 power punches, compared to 11 from Wood.
Round 2
That was a mammoth attack from Lara in the last 30 seconds of the second round. Will the minute between rounds be enough for Wood to regain his composure?
There's blood dripping down the side of the Wood face after that first-round cut is opened up again.
Round 2
Wood forces Lara back into the corner in the early seconds of the second round and that cranks up the volume at the Motorpoint Arena.
A right to the body is instantly followed by a left uppercut from Wood.
But Lara lands a beautiful right hand, which hurts Wood and makes his legs buckle.
Lara then attacks late on with a big right hand and only the bell coming saves Wood from any more punishment.
Will that cut near the left eye, caused by an accidental clash of heads, prove decisive for Wood. Will he have to be more attacking as a result?
Round 1
Great noise from the home fans. Leigh Wood with a left jab to the body of the Mexican, before a left-right attempted combination, but it misses the target.
Some more success to the body of Lara from Wood. Lara misses with a left jab and Wood counters with a right cross and this has been an encouraging start from the champion.
He then lands a dream right uppercut, but Wood has a cut near his left eye, picked up late on so there's some frantic work for cutman Ian Johnson, one of the best in the business, to do.
And here we go in Nottingham. Can Leigh Wood hang on to his WBA featherweight title?

Josh Warrington has just walked past me to take his seat ringside. He said in his BBC Sport column that he fancies the winner.
Wood v Warrington at Nottingham Forest's City Ground this summer? Mouthwatering.
Ring announcer David Diamante screams out his 'This is it, the time has come, the fight starts now', catchphrase. Our referee tonight is Michael Alexander.
