I can't see one single person sitting down in their seat. This atmosphere is electric.
It's been a pretty decent sporting day for Nottingham so far today with Stuart Broad shining in England's Test match in New Zealand before Nottingham Forest held reigning Premier League champions Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.
Can Leigh Wood make it another cause for celebration?
And now, to the delight of 12,000 fans in Nottingham, here comes Lethal Leigh Wood.

Wood has to be aware that every shot that Lara throws, could be the one that finishes the fight. He has to be smart. He still has to do enough work to make Lara feel that pace also.
If Lara gets into a rhythm or a mode, I can't see how Wood holds him back.
You've got to win those early rounds, you got to make your opponent fear that power early, make them second guess before you second guess.

Boos galore for Lara. He won't be one bit bothered. Nothing fazes the Mexican. Even in the second fight with Warrington, he shrugged off the jeers of 18,000 fans at Headingley with a smile.
Mauricio Lara, wearing a sombrero, is seen backstage getting ready to stroll to the arena as a light show illuminates the arena.
Hopefully the wait will be worth it.

Almost an hour later than planned, but here we are. The Motorpoint Arena is not quite full, I see a few empty seats, but it is buzzing.
And right on cue, 'Sweet Caroline' starts playing.
A win here for Leigh Wood would be an incredible statement. To take on such a dangerous voluntary deserves a lot of credit.
Sweet Caroline time at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.
That's your five-minute warning.
It's taken a while to get here, but we've had the national anthems but still waiting for the ring walks.

It seems like too much of a risky fight for a voluntary defence. There have got to be easier options for Wood out there. He must really believe in himself and I've been to see him in the changing room tonight and he does.
Wood has to get past the first four or five rounds. He is awkward, he is tricky. He's going to work the body as well. If he can get past those early rounds, he's got a chance here of either winning on points or getting the stop late.

The suggestion is that Wood had to shift 12 pounds this week. I heard on Thursday that he was struggling with the weight.
That's a phenomenal amount of his frame. That's what I've heard.
Dalton Smith has just retained his British super-lightweight title with a points win over Billy Allington, who was knocked down in the eighth round.
Smith gets the victory via a massive points win, but all credit for Allington who heard the final bell.
That means next up is the main event.

The crowd is for Wood, it's for him. He might need it. Lara won't be phased.
It might spur Wood in that round where you're knackered, you've got no energy, no strength and you hear the crowd singing you name and that will give him that inner strength to get up.

Wood has that power. Single punch power and horrible shots as he wears you down.
All great shocks or great victories need a couple of elements, sometimes you need a bit of luck on their side. Here's another thing that you also need, there's a degree of complacency.
Lara does not believe for one second that Wood can hurt him. That may just be the best asset that Wood takes into the ring tonight, the complacency.
WBA featherweight champion Leigh Wood tells BBC East Midlands Today he wants to show the world how good he is against Mexican Mauricio Lara.

Lara is very dangerous because that unorthodox approach, the fact he crosses his legs, the fact he can be leaning off to his left and throw a shot off to the right.
You can get things with him, left hand, right hand, right hook, a turning hook. He follows through with his head, his shoulder. There's lots of blood in a lot of his fights and not all of it from fists. He hurts.
When we were ringside for the night against Josh Warrington at Wembley, you could hear the noise. It wasn't just a thud, I could hear the noise and it was somewhere between a gun and a car backfiring. It sounded like it was coming off the roof.

So often in boxing we predict a fight not to go 12 rounds, and a lot of the time we get it wrong. But everything on paper suggests this is not going the distance.
Under the tutelage of Ben Davison, Wood has showcased his explosive power and a never-give-up attitude. The way he dealt with Michael Conlan last year, with the Irishman falling through the ropes and into the front row in the final round, was just epic. He was down on all three judges’ scorecards. But don’t forget, Wood was knocked down in the opening round against a boxer who is not considered a heavy hitter.
And so much has been made of Lara’s power. He’s ferocious. He doesn’t stop coming forward. But he’s also unorthodox and open to a counter.
It’s quite apt that Ibuprofen was first made in Nottingham; I expect both fighters will have a sore head tomorrow morning.
Both men looking in great condition, both have had 28 professional fights and both at the peak of their careers.

Both fighters weighed right on the 126lbs limit yesterday in a lively weigh-in.
